    Shop grow

Hi all going to be starting a second journal here. I haven't got all the details worked out yet as far as light pots and medium. 8Γ—4 mylar room with 20feet plus height venting won't be an issue just need fans and an ac for summer and heater for winter.
Strains are going to be some freebie mamma mia femenised. I might add a different strain later as I said details aren't worked out.

Still have to do some wrapping on the back wall and get a zipper for a door. Going to buy some bug screen for the top and outside to keep pests out. I can extend the room a bit if I need to but going to start off with the 8x4 lighting a bigger area isn't in my budget atm.

Right now just working on fitting everything in my budget but it's going to be a great investment in the end. Materials were free but getting extras for my new tent which I'll be running another grow in at around the same time. Setting up security cameras and just some minor adjustments and I'll be good to go for Shop Grow.

I'm going to veg a sprout I started 23 days in there now. I won't be updating on it here but you can see it grow up in my current journal linked in my signature of you'd like. But I will be posting updates and modifications made while it grows to work on any problems that may arise. Here's some pics.

Looks like fun! I love building things and am jealous of all of you who have space for such activities.

Mama Mia! I (and probably many others) will have those seeds! So very interested to watch and get your impressions!
        Cheers to a great grow!

I've heard good things about the strain. I'm wishing I would have gotten this shop up and running a while ago would have saved me 180$.

Thanks Ojh. Most of the equipment can fit outside the room. And I still have material if I need an extension. The only equipment inside will be fans and lights.

Well my measurement increased to 9x6 so far so good. Temps and humidity have been perfect and I took some preventive measures for keeping bugs out. Can't figure out where they are coming from but seeing less and less since I've been taking precautions.
Plugged up some light leaks with handy cardboard so I'm good to flower in there now. Have had some cool temps at night but with lights on it's fine and I ran a radiator heater on there with lights out temps a little cooler then I want but weather is changing and it won't be a concern much longer. I'll figure that out when the time comes.

Spent $30 a roll x2 on the bug screen worth it to keep things clear of infestations. Don't know if I need both but I can use it elsewhere eventually I'm sure. That was my biggest concern anyway.
I can pick up a fan wholesale from an electrician friend to vent some heat but don't think it will be needed. Humidity due to transpiration might be a concern for flowering but it's 50% and expect it not to get too high. I've brought it down by opening up the door to 36%. But only one plant a couple seedlings and 3 clones I'll keep it as high as I can for now. I'm sure I can keep it down to 50% when the time comes. Cooling it with ac will help tremendously in that aspect.

Things are coming together just finishing up with the screen. See if I need to make anymore adjustments before I start the mama mias. I don't want to run into any snags midgrow because of my environment. Put a lot of thought into this and would like to expand the grow space a bit but the cost of lighting would certainly put up a flag. Just going to go with my leagal amount of plants for now. Being leagal doesn't mean the landlord would approve but I'm within my right and limits from schools or parks. On private property off of the county road it's a great property to cultivate. I wish they would just sell it to me so I could go about my buisness. Few pics.

Okay so I've decided on the strains for the shop. My wife is excited about me getting this going because the tent takes up to much room even though I downgraded to 4x4. Order placed for autos including exp gg#4 auto x3 skywalker auto by mephisto x3 and blue cheese auto Barney's farms x3. Got some free fem seeds with order 3 mamma mia seedsman and 3 Barney's farms peyote critical that I will probably hold onto for a bit maybe do those in winter when the tent opens up.

All I have to do is install my ac unit and add a light then I should be good to go. My power bill is going to be kinda crazy these next few months I'll have to keep an eye on it. The ac is needed since I'm running lights at night on 18/6 and temps climb in the shop to almost 90f with lights off when it's 80f outside. Can't set up co2 just yet.

Still haven't decided on my medium but leaning towards kind soil just so I don't have to add any nutes and make this grow as simple as possible since I'll have other projects at the same time. I'll be making other adjustments in the future for femenised photos but thought I'd go this route to avoid light contamination from messing this up for me. I'll just have to compensate for heat with lights on 20/4 schedule.

As soon as my seeds arrive I'll have everything figured out and dialed in. And will begin germination very soon. Here's some pics of what I purchased.

Chefbjy I used kind soil for my Autos then I tried root organic green fields there version of super soil at $14 I got almost 15 gallons of dirt ,I did 2 plants same strain just one with kind and one with RO the weight difference when all dried and cured was within 20 grams , I'll let you figure the rest lol just sharing

Thanks for the tip OJH. I'm not concerned with how much the cost of the soil is. But 20g nice πŸ˜†. I'll look into green fields.

E-mail recieved package shipped July 16th the latest recieve date. Still deliberating medium, training (fim or topping), and whether or not I should transplant. Most of these decisions will be made mostly on how they grow. I'm excited to start growing autos and curious if I'll come close to a photoperiod harvest. Almost ready to go and hope the return outweighs the investments.

        Happy growing all!!!

So, these are going to be Kind soil?

You are going to be an expert in all sorts of media! Will be interesting to get your impressions of the various differences.
Unless they get intercepted, I bet you receive them in a week.
          My jealousy is growing

I was thinking of starting seeds using a garden hack to discourage transplant stress. Starting seedlings in lemon rinds. Maybe move up to a small melon rind and then final pot.
Any one ever thought of trying that for autos before? This might be the best idea I've had and honestly think I will be doing this in soil grows from now on.

        Here's a link among many I stumbled across. http://balconygardenweb.com/12-diy-s...r-and-quicker/

You'd have to put something in to get it to stick together. Coco just doesn't stick to itself very well. That is what makes transplanting such a challenge - especially from fabric - ESPECIALLY from the tiny fabric pots that I use to start... But they kicked butt in terms of plant growth and I feel confident transplanting - Maybe I'll do different things with different seeds for the challenge.

Shop grow has become a summer nightmare. I'm afraid I have to insulate it before I can run my ac in there. It's too hot so thinking of just moving into another tent. I will be using the space eventually but just not this summer.

Seeds have arrived 2 of each strain went straight into jiffy pellets. The heat maybe rough but going to get a new ac unit for the house so I don't have to use the wall bangers which gives me ac in the shop now. Still think I should slap some insulation in but going to roll with it for now.

Might just get another tent hood and light for my b day...asking for an advance on gifts πŸ˜†. It's only 1.5 months early πŸ˜‰. Probably going to regret taking on a bigger workload with this grow spilling into dhgc. And still have to get a drip system set up.

I will be using coco loco for this grow along with nutes Vegamatrix in 7 gallon fabric pots. Plan is to transplant one time from pellets to 1gallon to 5gallon. I know they say you should start autos in final containers to avoid transplant shock. But I'm really confident about transplanting and have gotten pretty good at it. More details to come...tbc. ✌

Yes they are all autos 55-58days for gg#4. 60-65 days for blue cheese and 70-75 days for skywalker. The gg#4 didn't have the height spec. Since it's an auto I'm thinking 3foot but I'm prepared for bigger πŸ˜†.

          Subbed !

I have transplanted and put seeds in final pots. I grow in soil and when done effectively I have had similar results.
I don't have problems transplanting, in fact I pride myself on my no shock transplant, but my time is very limited in summer(70 hour work weeks). So often straight in the final home. When I water, I use a spray bottle and spray just enough.

I love to watch everyone build up their grow and expand. I have to admit I admire everyone's resources. I get excited to see people getting it "right".

I am blessed with a big family, so my grow is very slow to expand. Lol But I take notes from the all-star team here πŸ‘

So kind soil was a stretch for me and I couldn't find coco loco in 5different shops. My go to store is getting in some green fields and I may give that a go. So for now I'm going to use roots organics original and pick up some green fields when they get it in. Just waiting on some heads to pop and wanted to address my media situation. Which has been my toughest desicion yet. I wasn't sure what I wanted to grow in and this fell into my lap after searching all day. First time using this germination method and I'm skeptical for some reason.... I hope they pop soon πŸ˜‰.

One gg#4 poking it's head out...waiting on 5 more beans to pop. This is a quicker strain then the rest already coming out ahead. I hope these other beans pop.... I usually do the paper towel method for germination. I've had good success that way. Still got one of each strain but I'll give it another day or 2.

Thanks Campesino I did find one seed but idk if I had a stoner moment or what but I could only find one seed just barely poking out its head. Hopefully it will sprout just waiting on the blue cheese. Think I'll only get one probably will start germinating the last blue cheese soon.

I always start in i think rapid rooters? Shit its 4am but pretty sure thats what they are called. Ive gotten pretty much 100%. Had a few die after they germinate, or maybe I killed them, but you should be good. I order 100 rapid rooters at a time and keep them in the fridge in a sealed bag, same lower drawer as my seeds. Let me know how that soil goes. I am a few days away from starting some new seeds. Want to test some other things. I have more now than I can ever use so just gonna play this grow.
