    Dark Harvest GROW CHALLENGE!

    Dark Harvest Grow Challenge
Four of us, KingKush , RosettaStoned , oldjarhead100 , and I have been working to set up a simultaneous grow challenge. We have hashed out the details and are ready to announce it to the world and see if anyone wants to join us.
We plan to each grow the same two photoperiod strains. We will germinate on the same day and flip to 12/12 42 days later. Everything else is up to the individual grower. We have soil, hydro, and coco grows and all sorts of different lights. We will train our plants differently and use whatever nutrients we want. We have agreed to full disclosure and we will each post at least weekly updates to a common shared journal. We are going to grow two fantastic strains and this will be a unique opportunity to really measure our skills and grow technologies. We would love for you to join us… The More The Merrier!!

    Key Info:
    • Germination Date: August 11, 2018 (New Moon)
    • Vegetation Period: 42 Days
    • Flip to 12/12 Lighting: September 22
    • Strain #1: Dark Ghost Train Haze (Rare Dankness)
    • Strain #2: Gorilla Cookies (Expert Seeds)
    • Dark Harvest: We will grow at least 2 plants of each strain and plan to harvest them after different periods of darkness: One after a normal dark period and one after an extended (at least 36 hours) Dark period.
    Strains and Getting Seeds:
Let me assure you that much thought, research, deliberation, and negotiation have been invested in determining which seeds to get and grow. We wanted strains that are highly potent, photogenic, have superior genetics and are broadly available. We wanted strains that had very similar flowering times but different highs. We spent over a month working to settle on these two strains – and I think we are all very happy with our selections. We have already purchased seeds, so this decision is now locked in.
Both strains are available at Seedsman and Attitude seed banks. They are certainly available elsewhere as well. However, the four of us have already purchased seeds and have used both of those seed banks with no problem. They are not the cheapest seeds… We collectively decided that growing the best strains was more important to us than saving money on seeds. A couple of us used Bitcoin on Seedsman and saved considerably.

Dark Ghost Train Haze: “Dark Ghost Train is the product of a successful union between a Grape Ape mother and a male Ghost Train Haze #1. Yields are average but the THC production is high! Buds can turn purple and this feature gives it part of its name.
Dark Ghost Train is a reasonably fast-flowering cannabis strain that can be ready in just 56 days of flowering although some plants may need as much as another ten days to be ready to harvest. Despite average yields the results are more than worthwhile due to its superb sweet, grapey flavour, high resin production and wonderful, powerful high.”
    Attitude Seed Bank: https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.u...prod_6994.html
    Seedsman: https://www.seedsman.com/en/dark-gho...inised-seeds-6

Gorilla Cookies: “Gorilla Cookies is an absolute beast of a cannabis strain. This cross of Gorilla Glue #4 and Cookie Wreck boasts THC percentages in the mid 20s!
Gorilla Cookies is an indica-dominant plant that produces hard, dense buds that are just packed with resin. It is a good strain for both outdoors as well as indoors where it finishes flowering in 9 - 10 weeks. In addition to the almost absurdly high THC there is a good dose of CBD too courtesy of the Cookie Wreck.”
    Attitude Seed Bank: https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.u...prod_6388.html
    Seedsman: https://www.seedsman.com/en/gorilla-...eminised-seeds

    Join Us!
There will be so much to learn and see and share. We will be able to see the difference with different mediums, lights, and grow styles/strategies! You would be part of a collaborative group of growers who are looking to learn, share, and GROW together.

Great idea and a great invitation - well written. I for one cannot get a completely dark tent - and I'm having so much fun growing autos - but will definitely follow along for each to compare.

Looking at others who have grown these strains... All seem very happy - especially with Gorilla Cookies... From a RIU thread...
It's is extremely resiny, top to bottom. It really leans to the sativa side buzz wise, a wonderful morning and afternoon strain- maybe too strong. But a single bong hit and I'm good for the afternoon.

So attitude has them in stock and I'll still have to wait till payday to purchase. There's also a delay on economy orders 3-5 days on seedsman.

Thought I'd post my Bitcoin instructions in case anyone is interested in saving money and getting free stuff - but doesn't have bitcoin experience.
        Buying Seeds with Bitcoin

These instructions are based on a purchase made through Seedsman, but most of the steps can be followed for any Bitcoin needs. On Seedsman, using bitcoin generates a significant discount and you get 8 additional free seeds!!!
I am not endorsing or promoting any specific products or companies, simply sharing how I bought seeds on Seedsman with Bitcoin.
        1. From SEEDSMAN: Select pay by bitcoin and check out... the final screen has an address and a timer (24hrs) to complete. It also tells you the precise amount of bitcoin you need.
        2. Create account at Coinbase.com to purchase bitcoin (several steps but walks you through it. I linked a debit card. originally bought just enough, but then a transaction fee screwed me so get $5 extra (I had to buy more). This part is simple. CNBC referred me to Coinbase.
        3. Create a separate account at Electrum Bitcoin Wallet (This is third party open source wallet recommended by Seedsman and linked on the transaction page)
        4. In electrum account click "request" or "receive" it will provide an address
        5. In Coinbase account: Click: Accounts, "BTC Wallet", "Send" - Then send the bitcoin to your Electrum account. (Sending to/from electrum account seems to avoid "Miner Fees" that you pay if you try to send directly from Coinbase to vendor).
        6. From Electrum account send bitcoin to vendor address. As soon as I did this the transaction page at seedsman updated showing the payment had been made

Feel free to ask any questions!

In July and August it is very similar to living on the surface of the sun... stays triple digits for days - occasionally stupid hot like 110.
30 minutes from here it rarely gets above 80 (near the coast), but in the San Fernando Valley, where I live, it swelters.
