    Fresh air during long-term storage

The bud is dried and cured properly for 4 weeks with 62% humidity and Boveda packs added, next -to be placed in long term storage- ie more than 6 months.

How often do you "burp" cured cannabis once in long term storage?
Do you have to burp them at all?
It's all bullshit - until you smoke it!

That's a good question. I don't burp after initial cure but it will be interesting to see what others say.

If you put em inna glass jar, fill it all the way with bud and put in the freezer. No you don't need to burp. When you take them out let them thaw to room temp before you mess with them.

I use glass jars, but have never frozen the bud in them.
I freeze bud for edibles in a food seeler setup.
My climate is good for leaving them in a cool dark place, which is why I am trying to determine, if I have to open the jars periodically.

Howdy Weed Pharma, I do not think that the 'burping', after the curing, would hurt the bud, but one that it is place into long term storage any time that it is exposed to the outside (or inside) air, there is always a chance that harmful microbes and/or spores can be introduced into the bud. The less handling after storage, the better, in my opinion. I have started grinding and baking the bud, after curing in jars, and making caps instead of smoking it. The ground bud caps have no waste except for some stems and twigs and I'm saving them in the freezer to try making tincture from them. The leaf trim I use to make DIH caps.
      Smoke weed,.....grow peace!

Yes about the spores, which is why I never consideredered growing a mushroom kit, to produce CO2 for cannabis!

I tried one of those CO2 fungus generators, did not get any mushrooms in my weed, but could not tell if the CO2 generated did any good as well.

My understanding is little/ minimum light during during drying / but fresh air...and as the newsletter says today on long term storing...As little air exposure as possible.
      Hate spel ck!
Also I don't burp after full cure.
Jezzuzzz I've edited this three times! Duh!

I put long-term storage in the freezer. Works for me (but most of my stock goes to extracts, so I don't keep much in bud form, and I don't smoke it).

I keep my jars in a wood chest in a cool dark place. I have several strains stored and they get open when I grab smoke from them.

During full cure I burp the jars frequently, but after a couple of months I lengthen the duration between "burps". I have stored for up to three years with no decrease in potency. Store it in a cool dark place in the basement. Not sure if this is the accepted method, but it has worked for me.

          I found this today.
          "
It’s a good idea to open stored cannabis jars at least once every four months. Let the buds breathe for half an hour."
