    Help with diy cobs

Ok so I got this light from work.. they thought it was broke but just a wire loose.. it's a cob light wit cree cxb-3590s I believe, either 9 or 12 I forget .. anyway it says the light is only pushing 240 watts.. I wanted to take this thing apart an make 3 separate bars with 3 or 4 cobs on each .. I know I need new holders ,reflectors ,heatsinks an drivers I just have no idea which ones to get.. I also have a mars 700 I can use parts from.. 2 corners are burned out on it tho so not sure what parts are still good.. never done a cob or led light before so really new to this if u can help me out with a material list of what I need to get to make it work.. should be able to get up to 75 watts per cob? Wanna get the most I can outta it to run in a 3.5x3.5 tent
    Thanks

It will help if you can post some pics of the components on the used light. That will help us give some suggestions.

I just built a 3 cob light. Got my parts from rapid led. 3 Vero 29s driven 70 watts. There are many sites to get led info specific site. Like Led Gardner, grow mau5. I'm interested in pic of that light.

Search for Mars Hydro hacks and you'll find ways to use the cxb3590s in the Mars Hydro case. Not sure how many cxb3590s you can run, it depends on what drivers are in the Mars Hydro light. Go watch a bunch of gromau5's youtube videos, it will give you the basics on what you'll need.

Biggest thing I need to Kno is which drivers will push these the best? Also gonna use the blurple LEDs that still work somehow, so any ideas on how to design it would be great, for max wattage an coverage, it's for a 3.5x3.5 tent

I have some 100watt light bars from lightmetal they are 3 to 4 feet long ,I think they might just sell the frame work for the light ,I screwed mine to the walls around my grow room, pictures in new grow room good luck
new grow room built summer of 2017 ,argo max tent for veging ,big kahuna reflector, 1000hps with added leds for the full spectrum . 15th indoor grow ,5 years outside gorilla grows(stealth is the key),veg under t5s growing autos under 300w leds

I'm acctually thinking now it way be better to just build a big 3x3 frame an put them in rows of 3 or 4an using the reg LEDs from my mars 700 an the LEDs from the mars reflector I got an putting them on there some how also for maximum light.. but which drivers should I get to run the cxb's at a higher wattage? Right now says it's 240 watts the white cree light.. but with diff drivers running them in sets of 3 or 4 I should be able to get more wattage I believe? I got the light for free so .. but the light how it's set up is for hanging in a house not growing so there all bunched together on one big heatsink

I wouldn't waste my time with the LEDs from the Mars Hydro unit. Most use 1400 mA Meanwell drivers; look up what the cxb3590s can take, I believe they can handle 2800 mA. I think they lose efficiency at max current so I'd probably stick to 1400 mA or keep them running soft at 700 mA. You'll need to size your heat sinks after you decide on the current you'll run them at.

Again, go watch some growmau5 videos on youtube, it'll give you all the info you need to build a unit. He works with cxb3590s a lot, so it should be easy to copy one of his builds.
