Yukka extract - does anyone use this?

Question: does anyone here use Yukka extracts to add to water or foliar sprays?

I have not used it but I have read on it and would use it myself If needed, the thing is I use soap nuts (Aritha) to make sure my soil stay hydrated specially in a soil mix with sphagnum peat moss because it’s hydrophobic. Yucca extract is good for its Saponins but that’s what soap nuts is full of and has higher numbers. It’s also cheaper and better in my opinion. In soils it’s used to foliage spray when adding things like neem oil for example because you want the oil to stick to the leaves to repel potential pests otherwise the spray would just drip off the leaves. Saponin alone can be used as pesticide. Check out Buildasoil.com they sell it and explain better why it’s good. But for the price I just use soap nuts because what I want from the yucca extract I can get from soap nuts at higher concentrations and cheaper. In many households surfactants are used in gardening, the best and most organic is Aloe vera
the most important time I use aloe vera is at germing the hard case seed out
after the scarify (line jar with sandpaper insert seeds- shake 30secs)
I add a tsp of aloe vera to the water
drop in seeds and remove 6-8 hours later once the seeds sink to the bottom

the aloe vera being a surfactant,
allows the water to enter the shell case much much easier
than if not used or even if not scarified

note/ any surfactant does the same but as for your Yukka...er why..?
aloe vera has many uses over Yukka, anyday.
unless I want to make some DIY rope but hey I got used weed sticks for that ...lol

I first bought my aloe vera, to assist peeps with their boozie bbq's burns!
on my patios many years back
I now drink very little so got a great use for my aloe

for non organic grows common soap or dish wash just a tiny drop is used

Yes sir that is part of my weekly watering. But still not enough saponins as soap nuts and as a replacement for yucca for what you get there aren’t many Better choices. you can use something like DR Bronners but you don’t get all the bennies you get from soap nuts.

thanks for your experiences.

i'll lave a look into the aloe vera for the surfactants...

but i've gone ahead and bought a small pouch (57gr) which should be enough to treat up to 1000 gallons.
thats a lot of water...

having tried it out with a foliar spray, i can say it does indeed help...

water is more like a film on the leaf rather than discrete drops.. and i need less spray to cover the plant than before.

this is the last foliar spray these will get, as they've just started flowering...
