Xtra hight THC strains

You know, it doesn't help me when I read (or maybe it did, I want buy it) in their flash and splash adds that these (name of seed withheld as there are others) produce several pheno's. This one said 25% will be high CBD 25% will be high THC and 50% will be 1:1,,, now to me, myself and I, we get the distinct impression of a bag seed from this type of description,,, not something I want to pay for and then take a chance on!
 
Not intending to offend anyone, but, it's sloppy genetics at best and I compare these to bag seeds.
skip ahead 20 years; I can hear it now, Papa you should only buy patented seeds, and not waist time!
 
Here in Canada, as a registered medicinal grower, I have access to labs to test my stuff. Sadly, they will only test stuff that the seeds came from an authorized/legal seed sale. No bag seed weed or street weed. Strain needs to be known and I’m assuming they do a genetic test to make certain the strain matches the legal only grows.

If I smoke and get buzzed, then it’s good enough. My friends who have Rx pot think my first batch of Big Bang auto is well into the mid to upper 20% range.
 
Rwise I think you're describing Cannatonic, which is one of the most highly-praised high-CBD strains:
CANNATONIC Resin Sds 9-10 wks Med" THC 10-15%, CBD 10% but varies.
Genetics: Reina Madre x NYCD
Effects: Good for nausea, pain, anti-inflammatory, negativity, depression.
Significant variation of chemotypes: 50% 1:1, 25% high CBD, 25% high THC
 
The more I thought about your comment, the more I agree and honestly, I can’t do more than a few hits of any weed I have produced and what I am getting now is so much better than my first and that was great so you’re right...testing bad, stoned good!
 
Been to some of the best dispensaries all over Cali (Southern and Bay Area). I have never seen anything testing over 33% THC. If you think about that... 1/3 of the total weight is THC content. I like how someone above described it as insane in the membrane. That’s exactly correct.
 
For now the testing is to costly, I judge mine the same way, does it taste good, does it do the job,,,
 
exactly, and so so genetics coming from so called breeders with imaginative descriptions that dont grow out, which is why we must converse about them.
 
And just how do they measure it? I mean are they taking just the trics and testing them? Or are they testing the plant mater? I have been very skeptical of claims over 28%, but there are claims of lab tests as well showing up to 35% Labs also need to get their act together and develop standards so that all tests at any lab would (very closely) match another labs tests on the same product!.
 
I do believe however, we as growers would enjoy knowing that we’ve achieved a good full product. We read that government weed is 3%. Average is 10% and strong weed is considered 20% or more. I think I’d be happy to know that by tending to the 4 month process in every thing we need to do with lighting, feeding, pruning, and all the other stuff...hey, you’ve got 23%..

.who me? Hooray!. That’s the value of testing for me. it would be cool to know
 
Right there with Farmall i'm looking at my plants and i'm so pleased with these last two how well they turned out. I have not even harvested yet but just looking at them covered in resin I know it beats the hell out of most.
 
There is a standard. 33% is the most I have seen proven by lab testing. I have never seen anything testing at 35% before.
