SOIL When to and how to, and for how long should I add CalMag to my feeding water?

Hey all!

Been experiencing some difficulty with my little lady. Some deficiencies etc. so I ordered a bottle of CalMag.

The soil I'm using is; Plagron Growmix (pH 6,5 - 7,0) (EC 1,0 - 1,5).

And since I'm growing in soil I'm not sure how to do this. Never used CalMag before.
The soil is pre fertilised and should keep the plant for at least 3 weeks, so I'm not adding anything to the feeding water besides Bioworm (worm castings) after I've pHed the water to 6,5.

So my question is; can I do the CalMag to the water even though I'm not feeding her anything else?

I've got a bottle of grow and bloom nutrients for later, but I wanted to figure out these issues right away, and CalMag might do the trick.

Thanks for being such an awesome community!l

Peace.

If we’re talking autos cal mag with each watering or every outer for photos, even seedlings get it every outher watering. Lol

Thanks guys!

I'll be adding a little CalMag to every other feeding from now on.
The type of strain I'm growing is a Aurora Indica (fem) and hopefully she'll be happy with the extra goodies in her next feeding.

Peace!

How long have the plants been in soil for?
are you adding any liquid fertilizers?
you typically don’t need cal-mag unless you are using RO water or are seeing a deficiency after regular feed isn’t working.

The plant has been in soil for 2 weeks now. Re-potted her a couple of days ago, giving her a whole lot of new fresh and nutritious soil.
So I've not started to add nutrients yet. The producer (Plagron) advice to keep of the nutrients for the first 3 weeks.
The NPK of the soil mix is supposed to be good.

Those brands are not sold here. The only brands, besides the local ones are; Biobizz, Plagron and Atami.
I've never used CalMag myself, but everyone has been hyping it for so long I figured it was worth a shot?

Yeah. Good. I don’t use that soil, but just reading the online description, says feeds plants up to 3 weeks. And MJ can be a heavy eater sometimes. If she is large enough, might want to think about adding more fertilizer to her diet. Slowly over an amount of time is best. Build up to full strength based on the plants reactions.

Use the CalMag - plants love it, will also help turn them a deeper green. Don't add more nutrients like toker suggests. Follow the soil producers directions for now and you can judge how the plant is taking to it.

Canuck147 you say don’t add more nutrients, then you say follow the soil manufactures instructions. Well which is it, because the soil manufacture is very clear that their soil only feeds for up to 3 weeks. 🤔

True. I'll keep an eye on her since usually I can tell when they're starting to hunger for more juice, and then I'll start by giving her 50% and slowly increase the amount over 2 weeks.

I think that’s a good idea. Let her use up what is in the soil first. Then see how she reacts. Usually they start to get a little pale color when they get hungry.

Typically there is enough calcium in tap water and magnesium in the liquid plant food (if we are feeding it a balanced diet). If you see a deficiency, cal-mag can correct it. But on the flip side if that, you can lock out nutrients by providing too much and accumulating it.

If you can pay attention Cocho said he reported 2 days ago so the smart answer would be to wait the three weeks the nutrients are good for.

3 weeks? His plants were having issues at 2 weeks, you suggested to wait another week? 👎
Speaking about not paying attention I clearly said let the soil do it’s thing, then wait for her to start to go pale color.

All right let's step back here. Stop and just remember you are both trying to help Cocho. All we can do is let others know what works for us and let them take it from there. Its is perfectly fine for one of you to add more nutrients and the other not to add more. All that matters in the end is that Cocho gets some nice beautiful wonderful buds to smoke. The fact that people have differing opinions means that apparently there is a need for different opinions.

In short instead of arguing about it just discuss it and see why the other person says what they are saying. You dont have to agree with them but no reason to dislike them over it either.

Redwasp ; through the abundance of the mouth, the heart speaks. Thanks for dropping the knowledge. Let’s strive to do better.

I have been working on myself very hard. I've come to find that I really do like most everybody. In the past I didnt think I liked 1 out of a 1000. Well I started listening to what they are saying and asking questions. Not only did I find that I learn more that way but I found out that there are some really cool people in this workd.
