What's the best way to store buds?

I have grown more than I can use any time soon. I've made a variety of eatables and extracts but I'm still flush with buds. How does hash hold up over time? I use a pollen press for the hash. Will butter last? So now I'm saving up in jars for the zombie apocalypse. Should I freeze or what?

What say you, my community!

I have been warned about vacuum (seal-a-meal) bags. Just make sure you do not suck so much air out that it crushes the trichomes. AND, when removing from freezer, allow to come to room temperature before you try to remove from the vacuum bag.

There is a poster on the forum that stores his buds for a very long time just keeping in the jars. Keep in a cool dark place. If you are worried about humidity store with a 2 way Boveda 62 packet. Check every few months. If the packet is hard, time to replace with a new one.

Butter will stay good in freezer for a pretty long time also. Just make sure it is well sealed.

In jars in a cool dark place with a Boveda 62. . I don't like what vacuum sealing does to the buds and the humidity involved in freezing is a risk. But plenty of folks do just that very thing. You sound pretty flush so try both and let us know.

I have buds in the freezer from 2014 and they are even better than when i put them in there.
what i do is, pack like 3 jars of cured buds into one jar, place it in the freezer and it will still be very good for years. I know this goes against some bud philosophy but it work for me.
I think it has to do with removing as much air as possible.

Gordo, most things get freezer burn if in the freezer that long (think meat and veggies), and start to lose their nutrient value. I guess marijuana is different. Are you saving it for the Apocalypse?
