Hi all hope everyone is having a good grow just a quick question im using autopots in soil with clay pebbles in the bottom 2 inches what do everyone use to clean the clay pebbles after the grow to reuse them instead of buying more after each grow

I simmer mine in a large pot of water for 15 minutes, rinse them with warm water and then let dry out naturally on a paper towel lined cookie sheet. The simmering water will kill any pathogens hiding in the small crevices and also does a nice job of dissolving any accumulation of salts. I’ve been doing this with the same batch of hydroton for 3 years and it’s worked for me.

I know a German and his crew grow bulk dwc in crushed windscreen glass who also pressure boils his 'rox' ..lol

good luck

I throw them in a 5% solution of hydrogen peroxide, putting something on top to keep them submerged, and then rinse them the next day, and let them dry before using, the peroxide breaks down into water and oxygen so there's no residue

This is the method I have been using as well. Simmer for 10-15 mins and then rinse and dry. Reused several times already.
