What is your biggest question about growing cannabis?

Right on the money, again, Mate, great answer . That subject is kinda like butth-les, everybody's got one.
Some strains it works on better than others, too, like you said.
Whenever them tips get more light ,they gonna be bigger buds,

"all they got to do is look back at some of your other grows, too see you grow Huge buds, every time you grow."

In my limited experience and education (i.e., a lot of reading) I'm getting the impression that defol can lead to bigger buds, while non-defol can lead to bigger yields even if some of that is considered larf (which I use for cooking). Is that generally (not absolutely) true or am I just imagining shit?

@PaganRich... well I screwed up with my picture download. It’s tge pic right above this post. If you click on it, that’s where I wrote out my message. I’ll get the hang of this yet.

Thanks, PaganRich. I did not realize that defol and lollipopping isn't the same thing. That article is a real eye-opener... something I'll stash in my mind for now and try when I get the opp. I have a couple of extra AK47 seeds; do you know if it responds well and easy for a beginner to try?

Toripony Might have read that wrong, the double negative caught me out, lollypopping is different to defoliating as it`s the total and perm removal of all leaves and growth to force the lass to concentrate higher up. Defol as you know isn`t and whilst they can appear similar there end result is for different objectives. So, I lollypop to a standard height though there is an excellent GWE article where you gauge on your lass how far you want to lollypop...did that make sense? Did I confuse your comment? Sorry, see what I did....no I lollypopped and defoliated is what I meant to say. Could cause confusion in a brothel I could

You read right, PaganRich. I did strip most shadowing leaves on my 1st grow but it wasn't an all-at-once-strategic-approach, but more casual. Definitely not aggressive. Some days I took a leaf or 2, sometimes 10-12, and a couple of times I took a couple dozen leaves in one session. My goals were to keep humidity down and get more light to the larfy stuff below the canopy since my target was to grow for edibles/hash. I like to think I'm "Farming for Trichomes". In the end, the plants looked sort of lollypopped but with lots of larfy buds below the screen (I didn't pinch bud sites, just leaves), were 32" and bushy without the canopy being too overcrowded with leaves. I was happy that I ended up with 14 oz of usable product from 5 plants, averaging almost 3 oz per plant but the prospect of getting 2-3 times that in the same space definitely has my attention. Basically I just need to get more aggressive and focused. I haven't taken to the lollypopping idea; seems like I'm just trading trichs on the bottom of the plant for trichs on top. I see now how defoliating is a whole different thing.
It fits my style... plucking leaves gives me something to do each day (I have lots of free time). It makes me feel more involved with the grow without getting too carried away playing with nutes and making some serious mistake. As I mentioned somewhere before, if I'm scared of hurting the plant with my plucking, I just pretend it's a rabbit doing it, a perfectly natural thing in nature. Your method is more like a deer attack, lol. I'll be watching your grows. Want to learn more detail about which leaves to pluck and which ones to leave.

Toripony To be honest I think you have a nice approach going there. Not lollypopping is an option but those small bits of bud at the bottom take more time to trim and do take away some growing goodness from further up however can still boost out your yield. It`s a personal thing. What you`re doing sounds great. You`re experimenting and trying to find your own happy medium. Rolling grows yielding 2-3 ounces say once every 2.5-3 weeks would keep me happy. Have you thought about perpetual harvesting?

Thanks, PaganRich! For now I'm keeping it small, concentrating on just 4 plants probably in my next grow. Just having fun and gaining some confidence. I didn't trim that larfy stuff. The 8 oz of hard top bud is more than we can smoke in a year. Am giving some away to those in need. I plucked the last few leaves from those lower limbs before harvest and dried the larf in a paper bag; it's all going to cooking/hashing so saved some labor there. I was afraid I had made a mistake keeping those branches but then couldn't believe it amounted to 4.5 oz. It's making killer good hash/kief and decarb! There's an oz of sparkly sugar leaf trim I haven't even sampled yet. Wow, that white widow makes a lot of trichomes.

ld I trim or prune anymore? I think she looks good.
just started flowering about a week maybe 2 in.
Just curious what you would do.

My outdoor grows look about the same shape as that one and I just finished pruning mine yesterday. I took off the majority of fan leaves and rolled away. I don't know the strains I have outside, they were just randoms that I planted to test my tent

GeorgiaGrower here's a couple shots I took. It will help them grow. Just water really well after. I have to stake the one after I move her

I heard from an old hippy whose been growing since the 70s to give them nutrients every time you water instead of once a week. If you water them 3 times a week give them 1/3rd of the nutrients each time instead. But one thing I'm starting to learn about growing is there's no 1 right way to do anything. What works for me might not work for you, it's almost all personal preference.
