What is optimal hydroponic water temp? How do maintain optimal water temp?

I installed a heater as well JUST IN CASE But I noticed my plant roots have taken over everything in my res. I do not think I will ever plug that heater in. The roots have covered the heater in full.

I think the consensus is 60-65F range. The colder water is, the more oxygen it can hold. Roots love oxygen. However, if it gets too cold it'll stunt growth. Colder temperatures also prevent diseases like pythium (root rot). I'd say 62.5F is optimal.

You would need a chiller most likely to maintain this temp.

Most people just let their reservoir temperature go and add a beneficial like specific bacteria to colonize the root zone and prevent such attacks. Hydroguard is an example and is quite the staple in the GWE community.

DWC the water is whatever the environment is, so if your room is 80 the water will be also. In my tent the light off for 12 temp goes to at 63 but warms up with the light on I've had no problems yet. Going on my third grow.
