I hang dry my buds then put them in jars ....she stinks sooo good when I cut them down, 5-6 days later I put em in jars and the good stink never comes back..ive been going into the jars alot..open close..open close..is that effecting the smell?? Or should I let buds hang longer?? Help cant figure out the secret of getting the stink back

I don't think they smell as strong once dried. You did nothing wrong. And unless you are having a humidity problem, stop opening and closing the jars. I am using clear glass jars, been less than a week. I open jar for a few seconds because my humidity is not too high. I will stop that very soon. I'll just roll jars around and look for any signs of bud rot, which I don't think I'll have. Once a week I'll open and drop in the hygrometer. In about two weeks, I'm going to drop the humidity packets and not open them except occasionally. They will smell again when using!

how long were they dried for when hanging? I'd say opening the jars a lot might be affecting it, if need be take out what you need for a day or two and put it somewhere separate so you're not disturbing the rest

Mine don't stink much once they are dry and in the jar. but when you break it up it has nice smell, once its burning it stinks the whole place up, gotta open windows and air the house out. the buds definitely smell strongest while drying.

Mine smell the most once I cut and hang them_the whole house smells like dank weed. Once they are in the jars the smell does diminish_ probably like suggested_because I keep opening them to make sure they aren't too moist. But then after a few weeks, after the Boveda packets are removed for 4-6 weeks then the smell returns as the cure progresses. The buds from my Spring harvest_ now about 5 months ago, are really reaching the peak of their cure. So I'm smoking them instead of those that were harvested 3 weeks ago_ though of course I've gotten into those as well!

Its been hanging for 6 days, so I put some in a sandwich bag and it smelled so good but it seemed like it turned real moist so I took it bak out sat it out for a while and put it in a glass jar let it sit for a few hours and it lost its smell...i think maybe it may be a combo of not hanging long enough and opening...ima try to leave it alone...ive only been pulling it off the line a little at a time so see how it may change..should I get a hygrometer for humidity in the jar?
