Weird looking plant

So reading up on the site about clones in preparation to clone the freak and am a little confused about something. NebulaHaze says "When taking clones from a flowering cannabis plant, choose clones from the bottom of the plant and immediately pinch away any buds you see". My question is about what it means to "pinch away any buds you see". Does that mean that i need to just pinch the bud or is the purpose to pinch and remove the buds. If i am to remove the bud would cutting it off be the same thing? Im trying to get this right on the first try because i have already removed most of the viable clones and may only have one shot at this plant. Also, I know just to use plain pH'd water for a while but i have some Rapid Start root enhancer from General Hydroponics and was wondering if i should add a drop or two to assist root developement.

UPDATE: Starting week 12 from seed. Should have kept better track of timeline as i am not totally sure when i flipped to 12/12. I believe it was 4 weeks in veg. Have not seen any amber in the trichomes yet. but they are getting cloudy and frosty, though you cant tell with my shitty camera. Sometimes my phone takes awesome pics and sometimes they suck lol. Soo wanting to cut her down and get this show on the road!! Smells great!

UPDATE: So i got tired of waiting...decided to cut some of the branches that were falling over. My house was smelling diesel-y last night!!! Most of the plant is still in tent but did a mini harvest.

WOW very interesting info here! You folks are amazing!
My just harvested Sour D was very leafy ( so was Bergman's Gold leaf). And even with more defoliation..still leafy. Love Sour D.

Oh it was very leafy. Only cut a few branches but it took an hour to trim. Very sticky! The rest of the plant is super leafy. I'll be cutting it down soon. Should make for a fun day!

UPDATE:

So first mini harvest has been drying since Friday night and humidity has been between the 40%-50% range. Checked today and they were dry to the touch so i put them in a jar for a few hours with a hygrometer and it reads 56%. Probably ok once i put a humidipac in there. The preliminary weight of the little bit i cut down was 21.44 grams. I still have not seen obvious amber heads on the plant though....hoping to see some soon!
