Water going bad?

So I have a tote with water in it to dechlorinate and all that, got an air stone in it as well. With the air stone can this water stay in that tote indefinitely, is the air stone keeping it from becoming stagnant? I couldn't really find an answer online.

How long are you keeping it fo? A week or two should be fine.

I collect rain water. It sits in a barrel for a month at a time with no ill effects that I can see.

Just keep it till its empty I suppose, just wondering is all I don't want use bad water and there wasn't any info on it.
