Good question, my outside grows have always produced way more than inside, so IDK!

I haven't weighed 'em up yet but I think photofem AP was my lowest yielder of 6 strains in the tent. My untriained autos usually produce more than this one did. It is absolutely covered in trichomes though. I know some auto breeders that recommend 15-20 plants per square meter inside so maybe that's what is skewing the numbers. You could be looking at 15-20 plant's weight indoors vs 1 outdoors.

many auto breeders state that the production is better indoors for their auto plants then outdoors. I assume that they would know due to experience.
Photo being bigger outside just makes sense if in the right environment.

If I may guess its due to the autos short lifespan. Growing indoors for 8-10 weeks in optimal condition may yield more than outdoors with maybe less optimal.

And therein is the beauty of autoflowers. 86 days to harvest - at that time your photoperiod plant will have been flipped to flower - while your watching your flowers develop - mine will have cured long enough to smoke- I'll also be watching my flowers develop as I planted 3 more plants while my big girls were finishing - they were 10 days old when I harvested the Maui. So I should be harvesting my next batch of autoflowers while your harvesting yours. Only difference being - I'm still smoking from the first harvest.

They hooked me up with 3 Alaskan Purp Autos. Put one in the ground about two weeks ago.

Yup, I can’t beat 86 days with a decent harvest. I can get close...I’ve done 98 days with clones that were already rooted in dwc but Autos just have the better timeline, faster to Veg and faster to finish. If it wasn’t for their unpredictable nature I’d have kept running Autos but I’m gonna keep running photo clones until the Autos become more predictable seed to seed.

Trim time for the AK-47 photos. All six are happy healthy and stretching! Took off any big fan leaves that were shading buds, tucked in what i could. Starting to build some really nice buds with little to no popcorn buds on the down low. GG#4 is hanging on but getting pretty bud heavy! Cheese is also in the same time frame as GG, sweet and sticky now. Quarter Pounder, GG#4 solo entry and Hindu Kush last pic.
