This growing stuff is addictive

Sorry for being a bad influence on you. Amazon just delivered an electric heater for my basement!

My understanding is that Ocean Forest is “hotter” than Happy Frog. Did you notice any difference and were you growing photos or autos?

RetiredGuy I've never tried an auto - all my grows have been photos. I live in an area that isn't particularly supportive of our hobby and until recently finding either soil has been hit or miss. (I recently found a new garden center about 40 miles from home that has better inventory). I started out using Ocean Forest and still do. I used Happy Frog for one grow because I couldn't find the OF. The HF worked well, but at that time I wasn't really thinking about comparing them. The yields were similar. Sorry I don't have better data.

My two worst money sinks have been lights and seeds. I started out with cheap blurple LEDs. Upgraded to better blurple LEDs. Now have full-spectrum LEDs (IMO they're worth it). Bought seeds several times online. Most visits went like this: Here's the seeds I came here for. Oh look, this other strain is on sale. Oh I've heard a lot about this strain, I think I'll try it. Etc, etc. Now I have more seeds than I will ever get around to growing. I'm staying away from online seed distributors ... today. Get the shakes and quivers at times.

The seed thing is definitely a problem! Gotta stop buying them. I've managed to collect about 180 seeds in 9 months. Hell, the guys at the grow supply ask if I'm there to check my mail.

I was addicted to buying seeds, still have lots, mostly from European breeders acquired over 5 years. And once I started collecting pollen from males and painting buds with it, now I have thousands of seeds. I don't anticipate buying any seeds for a long time.

Yes, it is addictive. With each grow I have enough for two years and that is with giving away 50% of it but I still want to do another grow. I just ordered more seeds from Seedsman so I will start again after Christmas. The plan is to keep growing and make some hash. I think the addiction comes from the smell during flower. The smell alone is amazing every time. Way better than growing tomatoes.
