The Source concentrate extractor: I'm improving my concentration!

Inuart88 The inner cup holding the infused alcohol holds around 8 oz. or so: it's a small machine, so you can only do that much at a time. So it would take you two runs to do that amount.
Yes, I have done that amount, and it took around 270 minutes. The Source runs for 120 minutes and then automatically shuts off, but I put the app on my phone which makes it easy to keep my eye on the timer. When it gets to 115 mins, I turn it off and right back on from my phone.
When done, make sure you pour alcohol out of its reservoir over a large bowl, because it WILL flow from the hole in the middle as well as the reservoir lip. Watch the ExtractCraft videos on youtube and read Ichiban Crafter's blog on their website: he's enormously helpful.
I got around 3mI of oil from 14 oz. of bud. Then I mixed that with MCT and a drop of terpenes to make juice. Total of 3ml juice, which is lasting a good long time.
I used the regular mode and not turbo mode which makes it go faster; I haven't tried that yet.

Wow man that’s awesome I will be buying one soon on defiantly. Just dropped about 3k in upgrading my grow room not really any money left over till after this first harvest. I plan on trying to sell my old 600watt lights plus ballast and some other stuff so I may recoup 4-600 bucks from that

Cali I'm not sure what will happen to your rosin if you mix it with MCT. Try it out on a very small amount to see if you can turn the rosin into an oily substance that could be suctioned with a blunt needle and squirted into cartridge. Know what I'm saying? Try mixing a drop or two of your precious rosin to see what it turns into. You will know how much MCT it takes to get it to the right consistency IF IF IF you can get it to the right consistency.
I just read that you're supposed to decarb your bud before you press it. That's for rosin presses.
For my concentrate machine: I've been told by the ExtractCraft folks that wax/shatter are made from bud (infused in Everclear 190) that has not been decarbed, whereas oil/sap is made from bud that has been decarbed. Now I'm significantly changing the nature of the beast by infusing my bud in Everclear 190; you're using heat and pressure to melt all the good stuff out.
(In the three little batches of oil I've made so far, the bud has always been decarbed. So I'm anxious to extract using cured but not decarbed bud and see what comes out. See if I can make juice with some of it.
If it's been decarbed, I would assume that you could take that warm rosin and mix it with MCT & a drop of terpenes.
If you have rosin and oil, and you wanna make juice too, take a look at the Prism Plus vape pen with a juice cartridge: I love mine. very cool. I've been eyeing this machine but the price is hard to swing while having a guitar habit. I'm sure I can convince the Sig that it;s a good purchase.
The bag, does this step just make the filtering process easy? or is there another benefit to doing this? I've seen folks use a big jar and fill it with bud, freeze it and shake it and filter it through coffee filters. Is this the same, yet more difficult thing?
Also, do you have a tester?

Cronk The silk rosin bags are fantastic for filtering; they work a lot better than the hemp coffee filters I have, and they don't absorb liquid.
I use 90 or 120 micron. I leave the bud in the bags while infusing, and then I have another bag that I hold at the bottom of the funnel when I filter and re-filter after removing the bags.
Another trick for filtering is to reduce your tincture in the Source, but not all the way down. Put the concentrated tincture in the freezer and you'll see some solids sitting at the bottom of the jar the next day. (I think this light colored solid stuff is the epidermis of the trichomes.) I pull out the the tincture using a big syringe, leaving the solids at the bottom of the jar.
