Which strains goes well with Northern lights?
I've decided on starting with one Northern Lights for my first grow, or two, if none of my other seeds fit.

Do you mean as in height, size, or the high you get? If you havent grown one try the White Widow from Royal Queen seeds.

If its height your worried about that can be hard. Even the same seeds strain from the same company can have various phenotypes. You may have one 20 inches tall and one 5 feet tall. What I do is adjust the height of all the plants by first topping, then lots of lst and strategic removal of some leaves etc. Once they are filling the tent and cant be trained any more I adjust all plants so their height is identical. This is really easy by changing what your plants are sitting on.

Here's how I list the strains I have so that I can figure out which ones will be compatible to grow together. I look at the breeder's info on the plants, and if they have low nute needs, I won't grow one of those with plants with high nute needs, etc. I look at weeks in flower, height, moderate or heavy yield. This is what I'm planning for one of my two hydro grow boxes:

Front:
ROYAL GORILLA RQS 8-9 wks 90-160cm High THC
Genetics:Sour Dubb x Chem Sis x Chocolate Diesel Moderate yields
Effects: super-relaxing, euphoric high

O.G. KUSH RQS 8-9 wks 90-160cm High THCCBD med.
Genetics: Chemdawg pheno? Chemdawg x Lemon Thai x Pak Kush?
My notes: Extremely strong; intense but physically relaxed mental high.

Rear
AMNESIA LEMON BF 9 wks 110cm THC very high
Genetics: Amnesia Haze x Skunk #1
Effects: Uplifting, cerebral

CHEMDAWG HSO 9 wks 35-40" THC 24% This is Chem '91
Genetics: Mystery genetics, ind. dom. 60%. Ostensible parent of OGK & Sour Diesel. Chem 91 was bagseed from some expensive bud that grower chemdog bought.
Effects: Mainly cerebral, euphoric, uplifting, good for pain; not for beginners.
 
It's a great idea for you to look ahead- far to many new growers, see their plants over run the tent.

I have found the following to work well when planning a grow:

Plants which grow between 3'-5+' get topped.
Plants which grow 2' and under- do not NEED to be topped.
Plants which grow >2' and <3' can grow either way.

I grow in a 6' tent with LED's-
All topped plants are done @ the 5th node.

As far as flower time etc.
It's difficult to determine the actual amount of time needed in the tent, but matching the flowering times from the breeder is what I use.
Initially - I would grow either photo's or auto's but not both in the same grow.

With auto's: I start a grow with at least one plant having the longest flowering time and fill in with additional auto's as room permits - as the grow progresses and let it run- until completion or I need to shut down for vacation etc.
 
I just order some northern light,l like it, but they are giving me 5 super skunk seeds free with order, so l am also thinking about growing 2 plants one of each one in the same grow tent, and see what happens, I don't know how it will come out, if anyone has try it let me know
