Soil or Coco Coir?

how is the farming going?
which one of the mediums is easier and better to grow in gimme your views on it. Soil or coco coir?

I used soil for the first time my last grow same feel as coco but maby I can save u some time after doing all kinds of research on soils I found its just cheaper and safer ( from bugs) to just stick with Coco and perlite

I have to agree. Coco also allows you complete control of what your ladies need, without worrying about what is already in the soil. Tried my first grow with soil and I will never go back to soil.

Soil will be more for-giving - takes about 1-2 weeks to spot a nutrient issues with soil as were coco it will take 1 day or so. Soil act as a natural Buffer Most new grower over-feed plants (nutrients)

My first 2 grows were just add water organic peat moss, with all the bone meal, blood meal, etc. etc
My third grow was is peat moss (Pro Mix) and General Organics.
I am starting my first coco grow now. I have zero doubt that this will be better. Easier to manage water in coco (for me at least), and ability to get root zone ph information from every watering are key for me.

What if you mix your soil with coco? Do you feed the same way? I just got some free sensi organic soil and wanted to my next grow but I really like the results i am getting with soiless..

Coco feels a lot like soil, but it's harder to overwater, especially if you use fabric pots. When you get your watering dialed in, they will grow almost as fast and big as DWC. And like the others have pointed out, the ability for water to flow through it makes it's a lot easier to wash your mistakes out of coco than soil. I water my plants in 3 gallon bags about every 3 days.

For my grow style (small, personal, and a little goofy), coco is pretty ideal. I will do some bonsai micro grows in soil, but only because I want to keep them small and slow growing. There's a youtube video by Dutchman, he starts his plants in coco in fabric pots, then to repot, he puts the plant still in the small pot right into a bigger pot, and then fills that with soil. The roots grow through the bag into the soil. He claims that he gets the fast veg of hydro (in coco), but still gets the soil flavor during flower. I may try that, but my room is a little small to get a 7 gal bag under the 3 gal bag.

I haven't tried that technique yet, my first grow just got switched to flower a couple days ago.

If you are new to growing I would suggest taking one difficulty/ technique at a time. Your choice is also related to the environment you are providing, ease of access, etc. once you know how your environment behaves along with the plants you can complicate it. Members here are remarkable with their soil processes- amazing in fact. Again- I suggest clean and simple which is VERY SUCCESSFUL.

Super soil only for me. I do use about 20 percent coco in my mix to provide some airy texture. Soil takes more time to set up initially but less time fooling as the grow moves along. By using a well ballanced soil I can spend more time working plants and modifying the grow box environment.
