Found a channel called viceland, started watching a show called weediquette. It was saying how in michigan weed raids/busts have actually gone up since med weed was legalized. Right now I have that same gut sick feeling I had in the 80's trying to grow for my own use but always worried that I'd get caught. They interviewed a couple that opened a dispensary and it was raided along with their home. They seized everything even 80 dollars they found in a birthday card, nude pics of the wife etc, destroyed the house and the couple lost everything. I've had the false sense of security because the tide seems to have turned...now I'm not feeling it...just sick. Don't even think being on here is so smart if u get down to it.

Sorry folks: I jumped to conclusions about the program joker wrote about. I am going to watch weediquette and give an informed opinion afterwards.

So true! Use plenty of caution, but don't stop at your efforts to give this natural medicine the dignity it deserves. 🌿
 
I watch that show all the time. I live in Michigan and that was an eye opener!! It wasn't meant to be a buzz kill, but to inform us that it happens. It scared the crap out of me too!!! I'm doing all I can to keep it legal. Recently they raided all the dispensaries in the Grand Rapids area. Now I don't think there are any left in Kent county! We will all know in the near future what direction this will all go !! Hopefully they will concentrate their efforts on the heroin and fentynol that stuff is killing people and causing the crime rate to sky rocket.
 
That show also said they like to bust weed growers because the majority are productive citizens who have assets that they seize and sell. Most of the meth or Crack houses have nothing of value to seize. Soooooo very wrong!!!
 
Oh I don't use the emoji board very often, if fact it pops up when I'm trying to go to the number and symbol board and it gets very aggravating!

I just ordered season 1 on amazon: I assumed at first that it was some sensationalistic program like Cops, but now I see that it's not. Hope it doesn't terrify me...
 
What I have seen going on in Michigan, is typical of government's mindset. The government gets millions of federal dollars each year to fight the war on drugs. In order to keep that money coming in (and paying their salaries) the State needs to make arrests and get convictions. Plain and simple. Also, they get to keep the 'ill gotten gains' you bought with the drug money. Again, it is all about the money. Nothing else matters. You, your family, nothing.
If you keep your mouth shut, just like in a illegal grow, and grow for your own use only, they won't even know you are a grower. If you want to make money from growing and selling pot, you will probably go to jail.
Marijuana is NOT legal in Michigan. Michigan has all the drug laws on the books. That said, if you are a medical marijuana patient, and you have a current card, with a continuing relationship with the doctor (he wants your money too) you will be considered to have a 'valid defense'. So, if you follow all the 'growing' and 'possession' and 'transportation' rules you should be able to have pot for your medication.
Bottom line, it's all about the money. If you are not making money, they probably don't care about you. If you are making money they want it, and they are out to take it.
Just my 2 cents.
 
Just dispensaries. They hit a couple near me too earlier in the fall. There's only a few safe havens in Michigan anymore. They're cities that have also decriminalized personal amounts. Those cities that I know for sure are Lansing, Flint, and Ann Arbor. There may be more.

No personal growers that I know of have been raided. I was a customer at both dispensaries that were raided and they have my information. It's been several months and I haven't heard a peep. I'd say I'm in the clear but big brother has a long memory so I make sure I'm 100% compliant.
