Plants have been growing since the 1st of Oct.2 of the plants my AK-47 were at 18 inches and I just topped them.My other 2 White Widows are about 12 inches tall and real bushy.My only worry is the sex of the plants. I have looked with magnifying glasses an havent seen any traces of sex.I have them on 18/6 right now and wonder if I should flip to 12/12 and see what happens. I have been trying to upload some pics but have been having a few issues with that, I think the main issue is age on my part.Thanks for any info
 
Yes, unless they are autos, you need to flip to 12/12 so they will start to sexually mature. It usually takes a week or two to start showing. This is a debateable topic, but you can let them know you mean business by putting them under 24 to 36 hours of darkness at the start.

I am assuming that you did not have feminine seeds to start?
 
18 inches seems tall to top, 15 is my tops for height to go into flower. Can you send a picture of the plants?
 
Are you looking at the joints? You usually can find their gender by the time they're this age even if they're still in the vegetative stage. Here's some pictures of what to look for. Try looking up and down the plant at the base of every leaf on both sides of the stem. It may only show at one or two joints, but usually you can find a pre-flower by the time they're 6 weeks old :) The fact that it's taking a long time is a good sign, because male plants tend to show sooner.

If you can take pictures of the joints any place you see something that might be a pre-flower, we might be able to identify it for you :)

As far as uploading pictures, is it happening on your phone? Some people have had luck trying a different browser on their phone, like Safari or Firefox. I've also heard that taking a screenshot or resizing your pictures can make it work. I'm sorry for any inconvenience. We're currently trying to get the picture upload fixed, because it doesn't work for some mobile users. We rely on someone for our forum software so unfortunately we're waiting on them!
 
Thanks for your post Nebula. Unless they are autos, I always thought you had to flip the switch before they would show. I learn something new everyday on this site.

I looked at all pictures enlarged and could find no signs of sex yet. Maybe someone else will. May have to do the flip to 12/12.
 
It's lovely how much you guys have grown! And I also love the amazon link on the bottom, that's just pure genius lol
 
I agree with insomniaczzz, I can't see any pre-flowers in these pics :) I think they often tend to show more towards the top than the bottom, but if you switched to 12/12 you should see them all over the plant really soon! All the leaves look green and healthy, so your plants seem nice and happy, too!
 
My one (and only) regular seed grow showed sex before switch under the T5s. Females showed first. Tangie by DNA Genetics.
