Just wanted to show my GWE family my little buddy, His name is saber. He is a rescue, He belonged to a elderly couple who are neighbors of mine, One night saber escaped their front porch and got ran over by a pick up truck, I happened to be in my driveway and saw the whole thing happen!! I scooped up what i thought was a dead dog and ran to the owners house. the elderly woman and i got in her car and went to the emergency vet, since saber was still lightly breathing. The emergency vet said they can try to save him but that it is a 50/50 chance and will cost 3200$ !!!!!! well needless to say the elderly woman couldnt afford it and was terribly upset. I could not let the dog die so I hesitantly put it on my credit card, ( the one that I just managed to get approved for an advanced limit, because i was planning on spending close to 3,000$ on a new grow setup, i was going to purchase the kind K5 XL1000, a larger tent, ALIEN RDWC grow system and all the extras. it took me almost 6 months to save enough extra money to be able to get my bank to approve me for a higher limit on my cc. I had to give them 1500$ cash as a security deposit to be able to have a 3500$ limit on my cc, and I was all set to start purchasing my new grow setup) Not even 24 hours after I received my new card in the mail, I witnessed Saber being hit by a car. It was really shitty to watch, and he is an awesome dog so i went ahead and paid for the lifesaving surgery. well out of shear gratefulness for saving her dogs life, my elderly neighbor asked me if i would like to keep him as my own. which i did. This was all almost a year ago now, 9 months actually, and I once again have my credit card balance down to 0$ so I am ready to start purchasing all my new gear.!! I will finish out my current grow with my current gear and then set up the new stuff!! i Know this really isnt grow related but I wanted to share this story with you guys. Since Saber brings me happiness every single day of my life, i feel like he deserves to be bragged about. I Love this dog, he bings me as much happiness as watching my plants grow.

Dude..........my hat is off to you!!....both my dogs are rescued and to sacrifice your new set-up to bring little Saber back from the brink.....well done dude....great story!!

Thanks Grow Friends. saber is so special I just had to share his story with my GrowBuddies here on GWEforum. Thanks Everyone!!

Saber is Blind in his right eye, It happened when he was run over, the eyeball was actually almost completely popped out of his little skull, the tire ran right over his stomach, his intestines were hanging out his backside and his eye was almost hanging out of his face. he has a cute but tough lookin scar up his belly, from his ribcage all the way to his belly, its about a 5 inch scar. for an animal who measure 18 inches from snout to very tip of tail, 5 inches is a big scar!! in the pics that you can see his eyes you can see his right eye is fogged up.

Saber is such a cutie (give him plenty of attention from me!) and that's an awesome story, made me tear up. Almost all the animals I've been owned by have been rescues (literally from the side of the road or neglectful 'owners'). You are a great person for saving this little guy's life.

(sometimes I think animals make more sense than people, as a general rule)

This is a really amazing story!! He was totally meant to be in your life, and your gift of life to him is really beautiful! You got your priorities straight!!! (All my critters are rescues, too.)

After a day at work dealing with peoples' drama, denial, density and selfishness, I get such a rush of relief when I come home to the love of my puppies and kitties.

YAY!!!!! Saber just earned his Therapy Companion Liscense!! next weekend ill be taking him to visit a local nursery school. The idea is that eventually I can take him to visit Autistic children and other kids with mentally and/or physically debilitating disorders. Hopefully all goes well at the regular nursery school and then week by week ill take him to different places until he is completely accustomed to the behavior of excitable children, then i will take him to the special needs school. Wish Saber Luck!! Ill post some pics of Sabers First nursery school encounter a day or so after. so about ten days from now.

alltatup, I hear ya. I do some dogwalking/petsitting on the side (apartment doesn't allow pets, we were grandfathered in with our 'special needs' cat but I don't think we could get another one) and no matter how shitty of a day I'd had at work there's nothing better than being greeted at the door by four legs :)
