PVC Hydro system

Idk if any of y'all watch Homestead Rescue but there was an episode where Misty set a lady up with a sweet indoor garden using a hydro set up that consisted of a barrel of nutes & water feeding either 4 or 6in PVC pipe with holes for the net pots.

I have a feeling that she was into more than veggies wink wink & they therefore didn't give a lot of details on how to build this system. Does anyone know more about this?

I thought about a PVC system, but there's an issue with chemicals in the PVC, anyway thats what I got with reading all over. Good luck!

Sounds like a NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) system to me. I think it could work for someone that isn’t constrained by plant count. They could run clones in a sea of green with a short veg time. Looking at the results in the solo cup thread you could get roughly 6-9 ounces from 12 plants. The major drawback to this system is that the roots will try to follow the current of the water through the pvc creating a tangled mess of roots in the best case scenario and a flood inducing clog in the worst case scenario.
