Hello, I am really confused by various ppm "charts" and guidelines that I read on forums because different people use different nutrients and have tap water with different ppms. Can someone help provide me with some general ppm numbers to aim for in various plant stages? I am using GH Flora trio and my tap water has a ppm of 210. By the way, does anyone also know if the recirculating feeding program on growweedeasy is for RO water or tap water?

First things first....what is the composition of your 210ppm tap? Most municipalities provide this information to you if you check online or call. In my experience with the flora trio it works best at the GWE ratios if your ppm is 200 or below. You’re right in the grey area so more info on your tap would be great!! In general the GWE feed chart is fairly conservative but if your tap is rich in trace minerals you can cut the micro by 1-2 mls. per gal. over the course of your grow if your using grow and bloom. My tap is rich in trace elements so to be honest I stopped using the grow towards the end of my run with the flora trio. I just gave the recommended micro and an extra 2 mls. of bloom. Between micro and bloom you get all of the micro and macro nutrients the plant needs,
Hi! thank you for your response. I don't know how to read my city's water quality report (it's confusing), but I figured I would just factor all of the tap water ppm into my readings and adjust upward if the plants show signs of deficiencies. I've read that it's always better to underfeed than overfeed because it's an easier problem to fix. It's my first grow and I've already made every mistake under the sun, but as you note--failure is an opportunity for improvement 
Btw, any advice on dealing with plant viruses? I attached a photo of something that is definitely a virus and not something else. Per the recommendations of some other growers, I dissolve a baby size aspirin in the reservoir--hopefully that helps. any other recommendations would be appreciated

By the way, do you happen to know much about the Lucas Formula? I hear positive things about it and I noticed that you ended up using just the micro and bloom, so I thought I would ask. I would like to try it but I've read a thousand different ways of applying it on different forums so I thought I would just start with the Flora trio for first time grow

If you only have a couple plants you should go to distilled or bottled spring water, tap water has chemicals added to them fluoride and things like that and if the city's pipes are like my hometown they're over 50 years and corroding.

you are asking to oversimplify something very related to each system, environment and strains, that being said a nutrient solution could be as low as 200-300ppm and youll probably never go higher than 2000ppm. my advice is dont worry about charts and feed a consistent amount overtime, if its too low you raise it a bit, if its too high you lower it.
