Ok so i was in the grow shop the other day lookin at stuff an seen the power si, 90$ bottle an a 309$ bottle.. the guy at the grow shop said its like steroids for plants.. an that its really good.. is it really that good or they just want a sale

I've never heard of it, but then I live in a not legal to grow state. Steroids aren't good for people, so I don't think they'd be good for plants either.

Welcome Blazed227,
Do you know what is in the Power Si? If, by the insinuation of silica in it (the Si), silica is very beneficial for proper plant growth, both potassium silicate and silicon dioxide (yes, plain old sand!) are necessary for plant growth and especially the strength of the plant. The silica supplement that I use (GH Armor Si) is only $10.50 per quart! So at $90 to $309 there would have to be something else in it to justify an exorbitant price like that (maybe if every time you opened the bottle you got a 'lap dance' or something, LOL).
Seriously, I would want more than a salesman's pitch to justify that price.
Good luck with your grows.

Couldn't find 'power si' by googling. You'll have to post the info on it instead of making us go searching. Silica is worth getting -but not for that price.

Thanks for the link.

Geez....

OP, don't bother. Are you really that rich? I use silica. It's good stuff and helps make the stems strong and the plant healthier. I didnt pay all that much.
Put it this way- there are no nutrients on earth that should cost anywhere near that much and if they do- just walk away.
Look into diatomaceous earth. I think it provides the same silica benefits and is way way cheaper. I haven't used it.

Weasel, diatomaceous earth is more calcium (limestone) than silica, but it is useful to the plants growth and development as well.

I use Protekt (dyna-gro) for PH up, which is a silicon solution- so it has a dual function and it is one of the least expensive silicon supplements, based on it's strength of 7.8% Si.

Get some diatomaceous earth. Its a natural occurring Silica compound (sea algae made dust) and its used to kill bugs with exoskeleton. Apply to top soil and it will fertilize the soil over time. You want to put it on the soil and not mixed with water so it works for the larvae in soil. Also is totally safe to spray ur plants on vegetative stage. No harm I any human plant or animal. And did I mentioned its food grade?? Haha I feel like an infomercial. Its generally used to de parasite farm animals by mixing it with the food. Just don't breath it

Yea thats the stufc.. figured it was some over priced stuff
. The silica i got is like 10 bucks a pretty big bottle 2, the 90 dollar bottle is half the size!!

diatomaceous earth is the bomb diggity dawg....it's the only thing that combats my scorpion problem... christmas eve morn i opened my eyes to one on the pillow....i don't think i've ever moved that fast in my life... lol!!

holy geez louise! The biggest 'bug' problem we ever get are those nasty stink bugs. Scorpions get in the house, I'd have to move. LOL
