Power/ electric bills ?

Hello everyone, just curious before I start NY first attempt at my first grow. What do YOU all do for a living? How do you all come up with the no ey to pay for the electricity bills that you receive? I make GOOD money and all, but I can see this home growing thing costing a LOT of money. Wouldn't, it be better and cheaper to buy your weed/ medicine ? My GOD, how do you all afford the electric bills? Just curious...... Peace2U ALL

I'm retired by the way and all i do now is fish, play golf ,and grow pot ,and i will never buy another sack of dogsh-t as long as i live. I've always managed to keep a pretty good size stash of the good homegrown ,that stuff they peddle down here where I live ain't worth buying. And my light bill ain't never been over 100 bucks a month even in August. But I use LED lights, hope that helps some.

it costs a lot more to buy than it does to grow. For the price of less than two ounces bought locally I can grow half a pound of good buds plus small buds and trim for hash/edibles. If I doubled my grow space and used my same light I could bring in a pound+ for a good grow

Here's an exact costing of the grow I've just finished up. There will still be a little bit more added to the drying section as my buds are still in the drying process but as well as electricity it also shows nutrient costs as well as grow medium and water usage.

When I know and enter my yield into the spreadsheet it will tell me an exact figure of how much it cost to produce 1 gram of bud

I'm unemployed at the moment after finishing up a seasonal job at a processing facility, mostly worked retail before that. Initial setup cost is worse than electricity.

Wow. I never really thought about all that too complicated cost me about a hundred bucks a month extra payoff is 2000 fold

The costs per grow tend to be static after the initial outlay. The cost per plant will vary with how many plants you have. after my initial outlay of approx $600, and an ongoing cost of power of approx $50/month, with the three plants I have harvested with a total of 90 grams, I am already past my payback point. Decent weed in my area (if you can get it) is about $350/oz. In 3 months I am in the plus column. 350 x 3 = 1050. I spent approx 750 per grow so I am 300 to the good.
