Positive tunes for troubled times

Back in my day that would NOT be classified as Country Music. In my book it’s still not - it’s southern rock. Rock n Roll sang with a southern drawl. Good stuff like toned down Molly Hatchet 😎

Oops sorry Puglover1 may have changed the tune since your comment. What was linked here was Molly Hatchet’s cover of the Allman Brothers Band song DREAMS ILL NEVER SEE. I saw them with REO Speedwagon, ridin’ the storm out and tripping on mescaline in OKC. Needless to say - GREAT show! 🤣

BU2B "What does Molly Hatchet mean?
Molly Hatchet took its name from a prostitute who allegedly mutilated and decapitated her clients."

They came from FL but I feel like I saw them with REO or Cheap Trick, two IL bands.

We had a local band, Buckacre, put out a couple of albums, they played in Tampa often. They probably knew the decapitators. They toured with 70's country-rock bands: Charlie Daniels, Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker and more. Their mgr got into coke and scrooged their 2nd album. Another local musician still playing was just initiated into some hall of fame in Chicago, he played with The New Colony Six. Nice guy. Buckacre's living and still local members play under a different name. 70 year olds, the music sounds as good as ever and so do their voices. Drummer needed his knees replaced. Chocolate mesc, better than 'shrooms or acid, IMO. My wildest trip ever was stinky-socks-smelling dry mushrooms at an outdoor wedding reception. Having a photographic memory I'll never forget the visuals.

I'm not sure what kind of "tunes" these would be considered besides Yugoslavian, but I don't suggest playing them for your plants if you have access to the actual music. I only have the cover "art."

The top link is Harlan Lattimore & His Connie's Inn Orchestra's 1932 cover recording of "Reefer Man." It's my favorite version of this great song. Cab Calloway recorded the original, also in 1932, however, amazingly, I prefer the cover. I say amazingly because I loves me some Cab Calloway. The song was also covered by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, imo a lame-ass modern recording of a great marijuana song. If you need to hear it, I'm sure you can find it.

I am confident all of us here are intimately familiar with the personage in question in this song. Lyrics are be the great Andy Razof.

Samantha Fish is the bomb. Been trying to catch one of her shows for a while now. Her new record is fabulous.

I have to get growing. My pain strain, WT; Critical Mass cbd; White Widow. I can't afford the medicine, street or dispo which have been coming down & having deals. RSO or more FECO is desired end product, quick sublingual dosing w/o etoh. Got the room almost ready, I won't work in a cluttered area. Storing things under the bed until needed. Using the soil I am I can't mess up too much, I even bought a case of tall bottles of Core water. I's not pH perfect but a drip of molasses would be better than me messing up, on a bad day. I'll need to toss old nutes, get something new. I want to hang out there by myself with the doors closed, like when I was in trim jail. Listen to Spotify. I've had a stressful summer into fall. Pugs started getting sick in late August, they're on food costing me $8/day. Over 3 weeks for specialist's appt, their ER had to close last Sunday too many criticals; Two university vet ERs couldn't guarantee being seen, swamped. I have two weeks to call them, try to save $ I don't have, find someone to go with, drive since one pug Hates the car. Once they're stable I'm going into hiding. Or QWET some Mag popcorn that's been freezer ready jarred for a while, practice, it's been a while. Oh, the car is sounding different, think it's the muffler on driver's side. There are two tail pipes so two mufflers - amirite? Yes, I have been buying a lotto ticket online for the mega jackpots. Shalom.

We build these walls inside ourselves
We get afraid to ask for help
'Cause in the past, the help just hasn't healed your soul
You see this person in the mirror
Sometimes we wish that it was clearer
Sometimes we wish that we just couldn't see at all
We are who we are
We build and we break
We rise and we fall
We give and we take
We love without a reason
We smile through the pain
And we've been here before, and we're coming again
Oh god, we fall like rain
We always fall like rain
You see the life we're leading now
The one you cannot live without
It's connected to the moon and the stars
We are the children of the light
Going bravely into night
We fighting daily in this heavenly war
And we are who we are
We build and we break
We rise and we fall
We give and we take
We love without a reason
We smile through the pain
And we've been here before, and we're coming again
Oh god, we fall like rain
We see us fall like rain
We are the future and the past
We are the good and we're the bad
We are the prophet and the preacher in one
We are the blessing and the curse
We are the blessed and the worst
We get a chance to deserve our life before we're gone
And we are who we are
We build and we break
We rise and we fall
We give and we take
We love without a reason
We smile through the pain
And we've been here before, and we're coming again
Oh god, we fall like rain
I see us fall like rain
We always fall like rain
I see us fall like rain
