Plant problems

Yo, Chipmunk.
Here is a bit of background on my preference for coco/perlite.

It is just too DAMN hot to get good in ground bud outside in the AZ summer desert heat! The terpenes sublimate off the buds, and the buds themselves get larfy and foxtailed. Outside in the winter gets too cold. Not freezing and snowy, but 40's to mid 30's at night. NPF - not plant friendly!

I can easily keep my winter greenhouse 60°-65°F to 85°F with space heaters and box fan ventilation.
It is ideal for growing autos in 7 gallon pots of c/p. The grow is just so easy and hassle free. Mix/pH nutes, water, repeat until harvest. Buds retain terpenes and are much plumper. Use autos due to low light levels.

You have adapted very well to an environment good for cactus growing!! I like the results for sure! Normally I would embrace trying something new. These days I go to my lung room sanctuary with the dementia monkey on my back and can't remember what I need to do when I get there, even from my notes. I guess from this public admission I shouldn't be trying to guide people.

Man can I relate to that my friend. What really bugs the shit out of me is when I want to look something on line and by the time I reach for my laptop, I forgot what I was loking for. Getting old ain't for sissies.

I went to the Indoor Garden shop here in town right after we voted and bought some 70/30 coco/perlite mix that has already been washed to remove the salt. I just started more seeds yesterday in moist paper towels and also bought a moisture/PH reader. I’m starting again and I won’t give up. I really appreciate all the comments and recommendations from all the people in the thread. Many thanks! I’ll be 70 next month and have been using cannabis since 1973. Back when you bought a ‘lid’. A lot has changed over all the years!
Jwmvh,
We have all been there - first time growing, eagerly anticipating our first home grown toke. For some it's easy, some are lucky and some don't quite have the basics down.
I keep posting that a successful cannabis grow is a planned cannabis grow. Any newer growers reading this, PLEASE go to the bottom of any forum topic and read the tutorials! They have the plant science, physical grow set ups and product recommendations for you to be successful - seed to cure. And you do not need to go big. Even a small tent or couple of outdoor plants will produce good flower.

Oh, yes, I remember "lids" and "dime" and "nickel" bags.

It truly sucks for most of us! Golden years my a...! But at least we get up every day and try to make the most of things. I do like a nice nap these days!!

Instead of typing the same old thing to the newbies, most each time, we just need a response button. Hit #1 button and it populates a message- read 1st and question after

Jwmvh mentioned, "right after we voted". I strongly URGE each of our forum members, red, blue or indie, to get out and vote for their preferred candidates. The only reason we can legally grow is because millions of us VOTED to legalize cannabis.

GET OUT AND VOTE!

And the four finger bag=“lid” more or less

Ya, I can remember when sinsemilla came around in the late 1970’s. We thought it was some new strain of weed.. nope just feminized weed like we smoke now with no seeds.

Where I lived, we didn't get the cream of the crop if you were buying. We always wanted to know if it was green or brown. Brown being Mexican Brown (brick) and the green maybe something more exotic, like what we might call Columbian. Hell, we might not have known what we really had other than the Mexican!

In HS a lid was $10. My friends and I would pool our money and buy a lid every Friday for the weekend. We'd hang out in front of a convenience store long enough to get someone to buy us PBR at .99 a six pack. The transportation for our gang of 6 was 4 in the car and two in the trunk. Couldn't smoke in the trunk though, to paranoid that someone might see the smoke.

I am not sure, but the forum may have a female new member that was starting to post. last week maybe. I based that on how I interpreted the member's posted name, and I don't remember the name. Anyway, if that is true, I just want to say don't be intimidated by our old bro club talk and just jump right in there. We need your opinions. It all helps
