I don't have experience in hydro- That said:

I would check the waters alkalinity- ability to neutralize acids- a buffer of sorts. the carbonate and bicarbornate levels.

I've used it with spa's to help maintain a stable pH, which may be applicable here.

How are you monitoring the pH meter, or visual tester? i can't see the pH changing that radically overnight.

Howdy makoman, That is a very radical change indeed! Have You checked the pH pen/meter with a standard solution?

makoman Hi,

im growing in recirculating DWC, had same kind of issue but it happened slower, over the course of about 3 days, and not as extreme...

Campesino commented when I asked about it, and suggested adding hydrogen peroxide, H2O2, to the water...
this has appeared to stabilise the pH in my system very well...

another recommendation was to monitor the EC values of the water for which I got a meter (TDS ppm).

I myself have also added CalMag supplement to my complete refill and topping that off with plain water when needed.

hope that helps!

Check your meter. My tap is 8.1 consistently. No way it dropped that much. Just cant see it happening.
