Perlite, #4 vs #3 size vs course

Looking at perlite, they have 3 grades

The #4 is the largest perlite on the market and averages a whopping size of around 1 inch. The #3 measures around 1/2 inch and the Coarse is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch.
I am in organic soil, which is the best for me?

I like Vigoro perlite...right in the middle. 1 part perlite to 3 parts (Canna coco or Platinum Cyco coco).

I am acoco coir grower since 2012,i have tried numerous mixes and tricks for making the ultimate grow media for me. The coarse perlite is the best choice, larger sizes of perlite have anasty habit of findig its way up to the surface over time.. Very annoying as you mqy understand. Another thing I started to add to my grow media the last couple of times is vermiculite, really adds some performance to the grow!

When I pulled the soil out of the pots, not yet planted in the soil around the outside edges of the smart pots was nice and loose! However the center was not, I cut in 25% by volume (3 scoops soil 1 scoop perlite). That certainly made these 20 gallon pots lighter!

I also use course to add in my mix. Most all I have researched stated the same about the course perlite as being the better choice for a mix.
