Beautiful, healthy as all get out, those GHYDRO leds are great, I don't care what anyone says, MJ plants love those GHydro 300 led lights.

Hey Obi-Wan, great grow. I'm also a big fan of the mighty little GH300! I'm also on the search for my next, nicer light for my 2x4 tent.

I'm on the fence for an LEC or a viparspectra 600, and there's so much love either way.

I love my little 300w leds too! At one point I was running 4 of them in my 3x3 tent and a 600w led in my 2x4 tent to the tune of +/-816 watts from the wall. I got the 400 hps to replace the leds in the 3x3. I now run 2 of my 300w leds in my 2x4 at a consumption rate of +/- 670 watts and I have back up lights in case one of them goes down. I have to say that I prefer the 2 300w lights to the 600w. That being said I’m really digging the 400w hps right now!

Very interesting! Apologies if I am mis-construing, but I see we joined GWE about the same time and appear to be in about in the same growth phase as growers, with you a few months ahead of me on your gear aqcuisition (at it about a year, got a few grows in, killed a few, smoked a few, enjoy being able to help out the really new noobies with common problems, and even design interesting experiments to up our grow, sound about right?).

In the threads, most of the GWE love goes to LEC, and then 2nd place would go to LEDs. But I'm noticing more advanced noobies about in our phase, who are quietly going with HPS for flower. That's been lowest on my list because of having to then deal with climate control. What made up your mind?

You got it right DK, at this point I know just enough to realize how much I don’t know. As far as the lec/led/hps debate...I have an cmh/lec fixture as well, I just had too many issues with heat in my setup so it sits in a corner of my grow room without a purpose. I wish I had spent the extra money on one that I could exhaust through the fixture.I run my hps with the same 190cfm fan and filter combo that I ran my leds with. I found 1 or 2 -300w leds could run without a traditional exhaust but when I was running 4 I needed more exhaust than a simple fan could provide. Same goes for the 600w Viparspectra, without a traditional exhaust the tent just ran to hot.

Damn. Thanks for the tip, that's really good to know. I almost pulled the trigger on a cheep lec, but didn't because of the heat, and so have been torn between finding a vented one with a reflector designed for a 2x4 tent, or a viparspecta par 600 or reflector series. But you just informed me they are also pretty hot.

I've been running 2 Galaxyhydro 300s, and a roleadro cob 400 together I. The tent. It's been about 75 degrees. I've got a 6 inch in line fan stuck right into the fan sock on top, the side flaps propped open, but partly down, one of them has a small fan blowing air into the vent with shades around it. I am about to remove the flap covers and cover the vents with pieces of smart pot. I could do more.

Morning DK, one more time, haha, if you want dense hard buds you need an lec, but if your happy with the way yours are, led.My lec, has got a dimmable feature that you can turn down to 190watts if you want to for seedlings or 245watts. Even when I turn it to super lumen, 345watts, it doesn't get to 78degrees,. Bigger exaust fans are the ticket. Good Luck.

Weekly update: Starting week 5 of flower and this is shaping up to look like its gonna be a staged harvest starting 4 weeks from now. To be honest I was expecting it. The Scott’s OG calls for an 8 week flowering period and I’ve taken the GSC to 10 weeks in previous grows with good results. This is my first run with the Scott’s so I’m not sure if she going to require any additional time but by the way she looks now I’d say she’ll be ready in 4 weeks.

Week 6 of flower: The smell has really begun to intensify in the last 2 weeks with the Scott’s OG giving off a strong citrus diesel aroma, while the GSC adds a sickly sweet earthy fragrance. The odor is well managed by the carbon filter but quickly spreads through my house when I open my tent.

Week 7: No pictures today, I missed my window with the lights on so I will add them tomorrow. Not much to report, just coming down the home stretch. I will begin flushing them with florakleen on Thursday of this week, once I’m satisfied with the ppm’s I will give them only water until I harvest. They should be ready for harvest 2 weeks from today.
