Obi-Wan’s Bruce Banger & Peyote Gorilla Grow

Obi-Wan i just switched to 12/12 today, started bloom nutes, and changed the spectrum on my light. I’ve got my light at full power 2-3” below what the mfg recommends and the plants are thriving. Should I start to lower the light gradually now or wait till I see flowers to move it?

Light heights vary by model and manufacturers so it’s hard to say, I’ve never used the TC1350 so I’m not sure what works best for the plants. Speaking in general terms I like to start my plants at 24” inches during flower with LED lighting and move them down as the plant can tolerate it. If your plants are thriving I’d give them a week to adjust to the new schedule, then drop it another inch or 2.

Thank you. Do you start dropping the light with the light switch or wait for flowers?

I like to wait for the plants to start stretching. I may have misspoke before when I said I drop the light. What I do is let the plants stretch to close the gap between them and the light. When they’ve stretched about 6”, I’ll raise the light 4”. They’ll stretch another 4” and I’ll raise it another 2”. I’ve noticed that every strain is different.

Day 8 of 12/12 and these ladies haven’t missed a beat. They recovered quickly from their defoliation last week and are starting to stretch vertically. This morning I did my first full reservoir change of this grow, switched to bloom nutrients and raised the EC from 1.0 up to 1.4.

I transplanted 1 fully rooted clone of each plant into Coco so I can hold the genetics until I see how they finish. As of now I can see that Bruce Banger A and Peyote Gorilla B are stretching at similar rates, the same can be said for Bruce Banger B and Peyote Gorilla A. Ideally I could pair my keepers from the 2 strains like this, it would make future canopy management easier.

Day 35 of 12/12. The Bruce Bangers are impressive, nicely stacked and producing evenly sized buds top to bottom. The Peyote Gorilla buds aren’t quite as large at this point but they surprisingly frosty for this stage. EC is 1.7 and pH is 5.8. It’s day 29 for this reservoir, with the pH and EC remaining fairly stable I’m gonna push it another week before I do another full change.

Oh just a field of bud no big deal " the girls are just flowering" LOL just kidding this looks great. House bound bonus...….smelling the flowers we are loving it.
