SOIL non cooking super soil

Super soil. I started in march, but the weather her is not cooperating (low temps,rain). Got it in full sun , wrapped in black plastic, plenty of o2 via air tubes (1 inch pvc tubes stuck in willy nilly). Has it been to long? Should I mix it up every day? I need it to cook. all info is welcome
 
Can YOU give us more info? What did you put in the mix? How about you try out the soil with a plant you don’t care about and see if it burns it or not? Or how do you know it’s not ready?
 
nebula's soil recipe. added a little more mycorrhizae last week. Figured extra beneficial bacteria might boost it. Its 100 dry gallons and never heated up (cooked).
 
From what I know about that recipe, it needs 60-90 days to “cook “ before use. You should turn it to keep any anaerobic activity to a minimum
 
Best way would be to try growing any plant besides cannabis or try weed fuck it if it burns it it’s hot if not then you know it’s ready to go. Maybe bagseed you don’t care for or Home Depot cheap plant to test.
 
It’s not my recipe just simple and it works. Called the clackamas coot soil mix. For nutrients just Crustacean meal,kelp meal,neem cake/Karanja meal, and malted barley. For the minerals just Basalt,Gyosum, and Oyster shell flour. You mix those into your base soil mix made of Sphagnum peat moss, compost/wormcastings and aeration like lava rock. That’s it. I think it’s simple enough??
 
If you don’t think it’s broken down or cooked then....

Go to a home brew store and buy some malted grains. Don’t crush or “crack the grains but powder it. Top dress, scratch in the malted barley to the container and watch the fungi go to work. Depends on how much soil your cooking on how much you need but go big. 1 cup per five gal pot is good enough.
 
So, my organic cohort, the minerals and even much of the other materials don’t seem to be something I’ve seen sourced locally or maybe I don’t get out too much but can you find these on something like an online speciality place? I would love to give this a try. I have a compost pile I started but it won’t be ready until temps can ramp up and do their thing inside the heap. Feel free to drop a PM or point me in a direction like karanjameal.com

Farmall My minerals and nutrient mix I got it at Buildasoil.com they have everything you need. They also have it at kisorganics.com cheaper. The base soil mix I sourced it out myself. The Malibu’s compost or BU’s compost (same thing) I find it at nursery’s same with the lava rock I have a mix of lava rock and pumice with rice hulls for aeration. Also I bought the Sphagnum peat moss online I think Amazon but if you have a Lowe’s go check it out. After I payed for mine on Amazon I decided to go to lowes and of course I found it there for a lot cheaper. The 3.0 bale of SPM online is like way over 30 bucks at Lowe’s 11.99 bucks lol yeah big difference and that bale turns into 6.0 cf once wet and fluffed up. You can also check out YouTube KISORGANICS podcast there is a 3 part series with the one and only Clackamas Coot he talks about that mix where he got it from how it works and why. Plus tips on worm bins to feed your soil. At buildasoil you can find some of his recipes IPM recipes and just a lot of info on organic/living soil check out their blogs same thing at Kisorganics. I top dress my soil once a week with malted barley. The top of my soil is covered with mycelium, the plants and I couldn’t be happier.
 
Got up, got out of bed...dragged a comb across my head and then went to KIS organic and ordered $90.00 worth of soil., 3 bags full. Shipping was $97.50 UPS additional. Never finished that one. Read a bunch about the mineral kit but since I have Nature’s Living Soil new in a bag, and only 4 seedlings...that will do for now. I WANT to try that Clackamas Coot mix...but it’s gonna have to wait. But Cali, thank you for ALL of the information. As for Lowe’s and Home Depot...not very far at all so I will simply watch those videos this week.. not much else going on so that is good. I have several zoom meetings to attend but those can be screen captured for viewing later. I believe you have some really great soils there and I will be using them eventually. Build a soil does have a lot of information on that site

i took some indoor plants, vegetables and stuff out yesterday... that 14 hours of sun did Amazing things... can’t do the others though
 
The Clackamas Coot.....???
Lol I lived in Clackamas County, OR for a few yrs. Now if they had said the Ornery old Clackams Coot id'a said it was named after me!! 🤣
