SOIL New Grow

I just been leaving it on for a couple of days after the true leaves come out, I leave it off for a few hours during the day to let it air out a bit. The room usually sits around 26celcius in the day time and Ive sprayed water inside the plastic cover to boost humidity to try and help the seed shell open properly.
I don't always use humidity dome setup especially if I'm starting them at the right time of year, mainly doing it at the moment coz it's coming into winter here.

Careful with domes. They get use to the hot house feeling and seem to damping off and die when exposed to real temps and humidity. I used a seed cracker a bit but it seemed to distort the cotys. Make sure those jiffy pods are split down the side before planting. I use two needles to pry open the split a bit during the day, usually took a couple tries. Now I use a small file to open up the split a bit before the soak. Careful with bag seed. It can mess up a grow fast. I consider bag seed Hermie seed and don't use them anymore. I run a low DLI during the seedling stage, 35-40. Watch out for leprechauns, them fukers are fast. PAZ

Thanks heaps for the advice Mike very helpful,! as for the leprechauns I have 2 American Bulldogs one cross Rednose Pitty the other Cane Corso they love a leprechaun breakfast. 😉

Yesterday I got the wifes nail file and gently filed the edges of the seeds and today I have......

Line a match box or similar with sand paper drop the seed and shake, shake, shake. I have tried clipping the tip off with nail clippers and that is a great way send a seed flying

did you file them because they're old or is it like some sort of secret trick? i have some older satori seeds that i had a prob. with last year

The seed dealer says that they are fresh but I not sure, they may just have hard shell. I filed them because they weren't popping in the time I'm used too ( 4 maybe 5 days tops) even though I been using same method and the one that popped on its own having trouble opening up cloytelon leaves. Yea I got the idea from something I was reading about using older harder seeds.
Another seed has popped since this morning, one of the first three I put in. Looking like I'll get how many I need after all. ✊🏾

Every bean so far I've have gotten from any online sources has been over a year old and some never popped. I use to fuss with them alot but now I just order from the same source that has fresh beans. Hard to find . Scarification works well on hard beans. Get some auto's for all that sunshine downunder. The best Auto's I've grown came from Going2fast here on GWE. He does a giveaway from time to time here and it's always fun as getting a new tattoo. I believe he just announced that there was going to be another giveaway soon, stay tuned Aussie. If you see a leprechaun with a bag of killer, shoot that muther he's got my dope.

Thanks Mike I'll keep an eye out for both the Killa and the seeds ;) , I was thinking about putting a few autos as well as a photo in this next spring, could even get away with 2 consecutive outdoor grows of fast autos in a season down here I reckon... Got great older neighbours that I do handyman jobs for occasionally and they have turned a blind eye or rather a blocked nose when things have got a bit aromatic in the past.

I love the breeders that claim the best quality and then you get an autoflower in the mix, they are tougher then they used to be but they still dont last when you pull them up by the roots and toss them on the driveway.
I have seeds over 10 years old from the time I purchased them and they all pop. Who knows how old they were when thet shiped. in the last 8 years I have been buying from NASC they are about 80 miles north of me, its nice to meet the people your doing business with. I used to buy from Nirvana strictly but then I noticed they would change the parents and keep the name the same. Anyway trust what you know, if it aint broke dont fix it and they popped corn seeds that were over a 1000 years old so I dont think age matters much.
Wow I am stoned, Join me

As far as I know msnl are the only bank that still attempts to ship Aus, but they don't guarantee delivery and Ive had a couple of lots from other banks confiscated at customs so I bit wary now of getting them in from outside Aus..

Yes there is that hurdle to cross, it used to be real bad here in the states but not so much anymore especially if you buy domestic.
Sorry for your loss though

Sounds like the sender isn't very good at deception. I was for sure all potheads were giving a class or two on hiding your shit from the man.

Mmm Ive had them get through in some things that are not scan proof but the last ones that came through after 2 failed attempts was in something that is scan proof... I think it also depends on how busy and what customs are cracking down on at the time..

A few days after I gently removed the shell and the coyts are still stuck together so with a sharp blade I have gently unstuck them. 🤞

Has anyone used hydrogen peroxide in their water that they soak their seeds in?
I use it in DWC to treat and prevent root rot but I heard that the extra oxygen molecule helps with germination as well.... ???

For me it was NIrvana every time and I think the fine people at Customs liked their gear so they caught alot

Forget the hacks. Yep, it's works to well sometimes. 5 drops H2O2 to 50 ml H2O with same soak time. I "used" a little less H2O2 . If it comes up real quick and stretches out thin it's not going to make it. I don't use it anymore either because some strains don't like it and I don't want to figure out which ones. If it's bad genetics to start with it's bad genetics germinating in H2O2. Invest in proven genetics and you will be much content on the outcome. Don't get beans from leprechauns, that shit won't never pop.
