Years ago, I was led to believe I had some depression. While I am certain I was depressed, taking pills was a recipe for disaster for me. At one point, because of my 'disability' or ability - I was told I may be bi polar. Well there is a manic side to me. For example, I cant plant a tree. It has to be a dozen or two. I cant plant a vine, it has to be a vineyard. I cant do certain things without completely absorbing myself into the subject and really vetting it out.
I wanted to run fish tanks, I turned my room into a breeding fish warehouse. Why not just a simple tank? My mind doesnt work that way.
So I read this:
BIPOLAR DISORDER Grinspoon and Bakalar (1993, 1997) presented 6 case studies of people with bipolar disorder, who used cannabis to treat their symptoms: Some used it to treat mania, depression, or both. They stated that it was more effective than conventional drugs, or helped relieve the side effects of those drugs. One woman found that cannabis curbed her manic rages. . . . Others described the use of cannabis as a supplement to lithium (allowing reduced consumption) or for relief of lithium’s side effects. These clinical observations are important leads to the potential use of cannabinoids for treating manic depressive disorder and suggest that clinical trials should be conducted
I found that interesting also because while I never fully accepted this diagnosis ( if you read the "are you bi-polar" pamphlet, you might see that the majority of people fall within some spectrum )
OK point here- I also have or had diabetes. I controlled that by weight loss, and well cannabis too.
I have zero depression and could normally be considered more than the happiest pig dipped in shit.
I guess I wanted to just throw that out there- really awesome neat stuff out there regarding the medical effects and benefits. Not only that- but the beauty of this all- is we can tailor things to specific ranges of ailments.
Anything specific you all want to share and how its helped you?
