Let's take a vote! What's the best growing medium? Soil? Coco? Hydro?

I have tried several coco choirs. I like Platinum Cyco- using 3 parts coco and 1 part perlite (vigoro) in 5 gal Smart Pots. Indoor grower.

I'm using a product called Magic Dirt. It's processed manure. It's very light in nutrients and is compared to peat. I mix it with 40% perlite and use 3 gallon homemade air pots. I'm getting great results.

Wrench&weld, no bad smell. Just a good rich earthy smell. No bugs. Go to their web site, magic dirt dot com. I'm happy with my results with adding the 40% perlite. I didn't add any nutes till after their eighth watering.

I bought some soil called "Kind Soil" recently. It smelled like an oyster farted. It was pretty ripe stuff. The stinkier the better, IMO when it comes to rich soils.

My first three indoor grows were in coco coir, and I had phenomenal success! Outdoors in soil worked well (except for stress and bud rot due to weather). Next year I will add lots of my homemade worm castings and compost to soil for a hopefully super harvest!

Hydro DWC. If you are someone who likes to spend more time in the grow room than the bedroom, then hydro will keep you in the game and on point. Lots to do and pretty frickin addictive...!

I do agree that a Bubbleponics setup does take a little more time to assemble and get going, however I feel that I don't spend more than about 30 minutes or so a week in my room with them actually working. This is not counting the "check ins" that I do daily and do my smiling gazing ;-)

I prefer to grow in a really nice soil / compost mix. Only time i have problems is when the roots explode and have to pot up. Indoor i use clones with the same mix and try to control top growth. My 2cents
