willistoned. If your gonna flush you need to run at least 6gallons of phwater thru your pots, with lite nutrients in the last gallon, you run thru.

HELP! Leaves are turning yellow and spotting, curling on edges

I just did a thorough flush and took some pH and ppm measurements during the process. I did the first 7.5 gal with just tap water pH adjusted to 6.5-6.6 and the PPM was 100-120. The runoff pH was 6.3-6.4 during the entire flush. PPMs in the run off started high 900-1000 and settled around 550-600 at the end. The last 1.5 gal I added light nutrients (25% of recommended for FF trio) adjusted to pH 6.5-6.6. The PPM going in was about 300 and coming out was about 600. pH runoff at the very end was 6.4.
I raised the lights a few inches to reduce stress and was able to drop the humidity to 35% by cleaning out my carbon filter and removing the humidifier. I didn't realize the filter was pretty much clogged by the calc/mag residue coming from my sonic humidifier. I gave it a few good taps and shakes and vacuumed it out and was able to significantly improve the airflow.
The fact that the runoff pH and PPMs were within an acceptable makes me wonder if this was even a lock out. Maybe it was just a simple deficiency.

I think I've either stopped the issue or slowed the progress to a crawl. I've been doing a ton of research and noticed a trend with people using the FF trio. There are a lot of folks who use this nute lineup and have similar issues, but they're not following the exact schedule and are not doing the Sledge Hammer flush step every three weeks as mentioned in https://foxfarmfertilizer.com/images/pdf/usa-soil-schedule-english_3-2018.pdf
I've noticed that any time someone complains about a deficiency using the FF trio and mention that they're not flushing by the schedule, there's someone else who comes along and says things are going really well, but that they ARE flushing. Maybe that's the key. I'm too far into my current grow, but will try to follow the schedule more closely w/ flushes next time and see if I still hit issues.

At what point do I consider an early harvest? I was able to get one of my two plants back on track, but the other has just been in a slow decline for the past few weeks. Most of the upper fan leaves are crispy and dead, and the sugar leaves are starting to get affected too. The lower fan leaves seem mostly unaffected.
The pistils are maybe 50% amber and the trichomes are maybe 50% cloudy with a few amber trichs on the sugar leaves. If this thing was healthy I'd give it at least two more weeks, but I don't see this thing surviving even close to that long. This is my first grow so I have no idea if I should be harvesting today, a few days from now, or wait it out for another week.
What do you think? Since this is for personal use, I care more about the quality of the smoke than what it looks like.

Ive seen leaves like yours continue to color up and get nasty- all while the buds pack on more weight. I noticed that his happens with LED and autos- when you dont have proper cal mag - or some other PH lockout issues -- at this stage- perhaps flush for the final week or 2- water only as usually recommended- and harvest then. I think a little longer and those nugs will be awesome

That's interesting. This plant is the one under the LED. The other is under an HPS and made a full recovery after flushing. Would it be worth adding some Cal-Mag at this point or just ride it out with tap water? I had added some Cal-Mag+ a few weeks ago and things seemed to stabilize, but the feeding schedule on the bottle said no more for the last two weeks, so I stopped, thinking I was further along. In hindsight, I probably should have kept it up for another week, and will be more on top of it next grow.

I use tap water, and when I use Led lights, I always add calmag, something about using leds, you need to use some calmag, especially if your growing autos, i dont know what kind your growing though, i didnt read the whole post ,sorry about that,I'm got good at explaining stuff.either.

I dont over do the cal mag because I am afraid of a lockout issue. I make sure that I am watching all signs on the leaves for any deficiency. Usually proper PH and good nutes will be just fine- but when you have purple LED or what I use- AutoCobs (white) and other various elements such as temp, humidity, soil or coco, average temp stability, distance to light to canopy top as well- results will vary if you look carefully.

But I use a 315cmh, now an grow autos, an still add a little calmag, pretty regularly, with decent results, for me anyway.
Those upper leaves look like they maybe been burned or bleached to me, but he's only using 1led, I think, and I didn't notice, how close it was either.
And I'm not much of a plant dr. either.

D.A.A.S.69 they are autos indeed and the LED is on the smaller side and currently 17" above the plant. The mfr recommends 16-20", and I could lift it a bit.

But one burned or bleached my plants bad an the other one didn't at 18inches, , but plants are different ,even the same type, for instance when I used nutrients, I don't use them anymore though, some of the same seeds out of the same breeders pack, could take alot of nutrients, and the other one got bad tip burn almost over night. Some like nutes and some dont, imo.
But that flush, you did proved your ph, was fine.
Do your bottom leaves look better than your top leaves? I can't see your pictures that well, but my eyes are old as Heck too, lol

D.A.A.S.69 yes the bottom leaves look much better than the top leaves. The bottom ones are showing some normal late flowering N deficiencies, but nothing like what the top leaves are showing

I'll tell you something else, flushing plants grown in soil, is ruff on plants, especially when they don't need flushing,
Flushing growing in coco, ain't nearly as bad as flushing in soil, imo.
Have you ever thought about making your own soil, it's easy to do, and almost impossible to mess, them up, in no time you want even have to ph, your water.
And that's all you need is water, but I use molasses too.
I done got so old, that's all i use now, is living soil, it's super easy, plus it grows some powerful an great smelling MJ, too.
Good Luck with whatever you do, your plant will be ready, to harvest, in no time.

D.A.A.S.69 my LED has a dimmer so I turned it down. I'm definitely going to change up the grow medium next time too and will look into doing my own soil. I'm in Vermont and I've heard there are some great companies in the area that make great soils.

Chemichael You were spot on. I ended up finishing this under a 150W HPS for the last two weeks, giving only pH'd water, and it made it to the finish line with flying colors. It ended up taking 91 days from seed compared the other one that was only 80 days, but I'm glad I waited it out. The top of the plants looked like shit, but I was able to cut off all the dead leaves and it actually doesn't look as bad as I thought it would. Thanks!
