How high should my leds be?

I added 2-300 watt leds to my grow today but I'm nervous about burning my plants. I know they're not very powerful but don't want to make any mistakes. The paperwork that came with the lights said 18 inches to 3.5 feet according to veg or flower. 3 of my plants are in flower (autos) and 3 are still in veg. They've been under cfls up until now.
I hung the lights at 21 inches above the tops of the plants...should I go higher until they're used to the different kind of light and then lower it?
If one led can be 18 inches above, does doubling them up mean they need to be higher?
It's really hard to find info on this stuff. Any input appreciated.

You are on the right track @ 21"- I have damaged 2 crops going from CFL's to LEDS ( I'm a slow learner, lol) .

Personally I would start @24" and then check for the phototropic reaction ( leaning/growing into the lights direction)- once they react favorably, then you can bring them closer a couple of inches a day until you get into the zone- 12-18" (mine end up at 14" and any closer they show signs of heat problems- if I'm lucky as light stress will take them out in short order.
Watch for "taco leaves" on the top as you get to 16".

Be mindful that autos can grow 1-2" daily which has to be factored in when you adjust lights.

Hey, I use Roots Organics, as well. Formula 707 Medium and the Dry Nutrients Player Pack plus Surge liquid microbial catalyst & terpene/resin enhancer.

Bad Voodoo- I've been extremely happy with the original formula- I have grown 3 plants using just the soil and pHed water.

I amend the soil and add a flowertab (Nirvana) for simple indoor grow's. indica/sativa and auto's.

I'm currently doing the above, except adding low dose of nutrients at critical growth phases. ie foliage pro two weeks before the flip and 2 weeks into the flower period.
I've been also adding roots organic dry seabird/foundation alternating weeks- to see if that makes any difference, too.

A plus is, I know I can withdraw everything and still get a crop in just the roots organic original seed/clone to harvest.

It is such good stuff, man. I used to grow in Nature's Care Potting Mix with Dr. Earth before the Roots dry nute system. While that was good, between these lights and my nutes, I'm just killin' it.

Don't know what brand: I have Platinum. P600s with veg and flower switches.
" Seedlings and Clones - 36-40" - VEG switch only
Early Vegetative Growth -24"-VEG switch only
Late Vegetative Growth-24"-vEG and BLOOM switches together
Flowering-18" - VEG and BLOOM together
i veg outside my tent under T5s
when I go to flower at about 57 days I have the lights (both switches on) 24" above canopy.
