You can always drop them a little bit, give it a day or two then drop them a little more. This is a safe way to get them down without burning your plants and would be my suggestion.
The page with your lights states 8 to 12 inchs I'd be skeptical about that. bring the LED lights to 14 inchs and hold a day or two.
