Help With ! Light Burn ? Nute Burn ? Deficiency ?

Hi all, Day 46 of 12/12 switch. Leaves have been slowly turning yellow from the tips in. 600w HPS never closer than 18", usually 19 - 21". Canopy temps always 76-78 with lights on (may peak at 79-80 rarely). This is in Miracle Grow soil remember ( spare me the "I Told You So's ). Been watering with 7.5 to 8.5 ph'd water with low doses of Bloom (Tiger once, then Flora) & Molasses (1 teas. per Gal.) Run-off ph 5.4 Humidity between 35-43% usually. Bud growth seeming a little slow. Sure don't want to lose them now. Any knowledgeable input would be very welcomed. Thank You.

really no worries - remember some leaf yellowing is normal toward the end of flower. If you want reduce amount of nutrient's by 1/4 - soon you will be flushing (in about 2 weeks) plants look OK !!

Thanks steve, just can't help the worrying. Was thinking they have to make about 12 weeks, they're only halfway.

Your PH should be close to 6.0. 7.5 - 8.5 is way too high. Really surprised to see your PH run off is as low as 5.4. Still, your plants look good and like Steve said some yellowing is normal and to be expected.

Thanks for the reply Dagmar. I've had low PH run-off all along, down in the 4's. I only boosted the input some to get it higher at the roots.

Looks like you still have a bit yet...I would up your dose of nutrients...they will appreciate it..

As long as a more experienced grower than I thinks so, I will. I was just doing the "less is more" approach, and playing it safe. Thanks Greeen

Sounds like the only thing the plant is not receiving is magnesium. The main element in the chlorophyll molecule. It could be due to Ph or you could just need some calmag. Anyway they look pretty good

If I go by GWE's soil pH chart,(which I do), there's a few more vital nutes it wouldn't be receiving. Thus, my concern of a possible nutrient deficiency.

What you are looking for is the balance between soil and water. So when they come together they end up in a 6-7ph range. Most pre mix soils have buffers in them. Meaning they won't variate much in ph. I've seen people givin water at 8ph but when it reacts to soil it comes down to 6.5. So the soil acidifies as the water gets consumed and the proportional salt content increases it end up way low so when they water again it rises to 6.5 every time. Did I explained that well?? For you to water at 8 and have a runoff 5.4 your soil must be around 3-4 when dry. That's dangerously low. Could be a possibility your getting wrong readings?? Or could something be affecting the reading? I recommend you to look into that cause it's not normal

Build up salts and minerals acidify too. Maybe the soil keeps releasing nutrients and what you need is a flush to clean the roots

Should I flush the Miracle Grow soil, or would that just release more unwanted time release nutes ? I appreciate your help 9, I just don't know if I'm denying my buds growth or if I should just be patient and let them finish up.

I've never used that soil before so I wouldn't exactly know. If I were you I would try to rationalize and understand more deeply where the problem is coming from. Why. And how to fix it. Learning tons in the process but may be risky. The other option is opt for he experience. Green is far more experienced grower and if he thinks y just need more food you could give it a try. Its also risky cause if its not the solution it could worse thing up. But pretty much anything you do has that risk potential. Hope it work out for you. Believe me. In the long term its always better to read up and understand than just try and error
