Help - Moldy Seeds!

I have some seeds that I set aside for future use. I haven't checked on them for a couple of months now and discovered (with a heavy heart) that some of them became moldy. I left them in the packaging the seed company sent them in. As you know seeds are pricey. Is all lost, or is there ANY way to save them? Should I clean them off and try planting anyway to see what happens? Please help.
 
Some info on peroxide as a sterilizing agent.
soaking seeds in a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide for 10-30 minutes, followed by at least 10 rinses in clean water will kill any pathogen growing on the outside of the seed. Germination appears increase after this sterilization because some seeds get attacked by pests as soon as germination begins and the embryo is destroyed before it even emerges from the soil. This is routinely done in plant research laboratories to prevent powdery mildew, mold etc. It also prevents damping off. You can also use a 3% solution of bleach, as long as the hypochlorite level is low: javex is an excellent brand. The cheaper bleaches are not as pure and won't have the same effect. As for the hydrogen peroxide, I'd recommend using a food grade solution.

tersky, theres still a chance they are good, and good luck. I'd like to hear about it when u try n sprout them. just amazes me these plants can take all kinds of beatings and still give us a little of what we're after! I got seeds still in the pack too, didn't even consider a problem coming from that.

Well if the seed is still viable inside then all you have to do is sterilize it and carry on as usual. If it's moldy on the inside then it's not going to grow. Stating the obvious I guess...
