Hate free zone

Lucky, that is a great slogan for every day and a mantra to live by. Unfortunately crap happens and its a hostile world out there, but all we can do, as an individual, is follow the golden rule. Here is my updated version: Treat others as you would want others to threat your (insert person of your choice). Example: mother, father, sister, wife, child, and yourself.

Watching and reading the news in the weeks following November 9th, 2016 was a real eye opener for me. So much hate right here in our own country. I have committed myself to being more friendly and outgoing towards others, especially those that are appearance wise, different than me.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Amen to that. I wasn't always that way. So self absorbed dwelling on my own problems, when there are so many others with much bigger loads to carry than myself.
 
Hey insomniaczzz, it's been my mantra for a long time as well, my parents raised me well, but today oh today is a special day. Not that they were not around before but hatred and bullying got the most official stamp of approval there is out there. Things will be done and said with more impunity than ever. Lots of fine folks down there I know that but I'd be scared shitless if I was a Muslim or African American or Hispanic in Alabama for example. Or rural Oregon for that matter.
 
Lots of people have lots of diff. Problems you have to learn to adapt to your life stile, or as my doc. Would say (welcome to your new normal) as long as your above ground it's all good! Peace out
 
This is really really interesting. I had no idea my post about hate was gonna get me such reactions. I did expect a few trumpeteers and clintonians to pipe up but resentment, guilt trip and mockery, where's the love gwe that everybody goes off so much about on the forum?
And this à concern not a problem. My health problems are none of your concern, I don't like people to feel sorry for me. Guilt trips are too passive agressive.
my hate concerns are entirely different. Everyone here seems so concerned about pot legalization but it should be such a low level priority compared to what's been legalized by our new president. My Mexican neighbors are worried, my Guatemalan friend is worried, my gay friends are really worried, my 17 old daughter is worried ( especially re the new regulations proposed re rape on campus), my wife is worried about her Muslim students (most of them get harassed regularly on and off campus), and I'm worried about my 2 other daughters. And I live in one of the most open minded city in the country(or so we claim!).
I grew up in France and when my city fell to the national front in the '90s (far right party, all arabs must leave, concentration camps were an hoax, that kind of party, the hate party), well, life in the city got pretty ugly during that administration. All Arab vendors were banned from the city open market, cops got way more agressive, isolated beatings of Arab youth went on the rise, social services got budget reductions...trust me a hateful leader is not healthy to democracy. But hey if you think I'm way out of line I'll stop. im just trying to get conversations going is all.

I'm totally fine, just clarifying things a bit, misunderstandings are so easy on a screen among people who don't know each other. I realize this is not a political forum per se but pot has become pretty political itself so it's a fuzzy line in my opinion.
 
Politics is false in it's own nature,nothing to see here...If in a thousand years we can get our heads out of that dark smelly place and start being honest to ourselves it will all be better,for now,pretend to go with the flow and just walk upstream when they're not looking!
 
Thanks for standing up and sharing your views. I know there is a certain issue that we have to kind of skirt around here on the forum, and for good reason. Peace and love to ALL HUMAN BEINGS ON EARTH!
