HELP! Harvesting time! Why are top trichomes different then from the bottom?

So coming into week 10 of flip and I'm noticing amber trichomes on the top, but the bottom / lower plant is showing clear. I've read the harvesting sections would probably be the best for this issue but why does this happen? Is it because there isn't enough light or perhaps the growth from top to bottom came at different times and this is why perhaps lower buds aren't ripe.

Ever notice that your leaves yellow from top down during the late stages of flowering ?. This is a programmed death which activates biological processes that break down leaf material to be translocated to the main flowering sites. The upper leaves go first because they become exhausted from the intense light levels. This is related to trichome maturity because cannabinoid biosynthesis is connected with this senescence process. As the plant proceeds towards whole plant senescence, leaves die off and sink/source strength and demand degrades. This becomes a top down progression where upper leaves energy production degrades and initiates senescence which slows the cannabinoid biosynthesis process.

Thanks for the replies! This does make a lot of sense. I guess I usually see everyone harvest an entire plant so they must be able to control the process some way unless it's just how people harvest.

I harvest all at once. I like an early chop with up lifting feelings. I wait for a few ambers on top then harvest her all at once. To each is their own.
