Happy Halloween all y'all

Deep shit, man. Real deep shit. Got me thinking about that eccentric history (or something) professor in college. Remember? All he talked about were his kachina dolls and First Nation tribes and their systems of war and trade and worship, and junk.

This train certainly got derailed, and just look what it crashed through.
Being at the end of a dead end road, I'll see no ghouls or goblins tonight, to scary and to far to walk down my road. When I lived in town, many would stop in to get a treat, I kinda miss that.
Just going to be me and my bong here tonight, but we will have fun anyway.

Well i got those little ghouls coming to my house. I did'nt carve a pumpkin or nothin for decorations. Deer ate my volunteer plants and the huge gourds so heck with that. It gets dark so early now and i generally start my smokin session right after supper. But tonight i'll have to smoke outside in the backyard cause of the door knockers LOL. Maybe even light a incense as my house smells a tad skunky LOL

This will be 10 Halloweens in this apartment. Ain't never had no beggers. Our neighborhoods are mostly void of streetlights but populated with enough street folk to keep nights sketchy.
What happens around here is parents shove vans full of as many kids as they can and head to the good neighborhoods where the kids have to grab as much as they can before being forwarded to another neighborhood. Typically, those vans are from the south and you will find the Halloween candy being sold at the border for the next few days.

Certain hoods here are well known for giving full size candy bars, or handful's of lesser shit and they get all the ghouls, goblins and repeat offenders.

From the other side of our planet

Sooooo... where does advertising to children stop? Happy Meals? Candy? Why don't people get on the booze industry for flavored alcohol that is not liqueur? How about the stores that sell and advertise them? Alcohol destroys more lives than vape pens but is accepted. Obesity is and is going to cost super-fund quantities of money in medical.
How about candy in the shape of weapons? Cigar and cigarette shaped gum? Liquor stores have knives, man pills, and those previously mentioned flavored liquors on the check-out stand. If there are a hundred flavors of something, what do you name them? Flavor 1, Flavor 2, and so-on? Advertising is advertising.
Parents are the number one defense against kids getting into bad stuff. My parent's reasoning for not smoking is it smells bad. But most of my relatives smoked and got to chew a lot of gum. I started for peer pressure. Same with drinking. Alcohol tastes bad and is for adults. Peer pressure got me, again. Let's not talk about the sex talk I never had. Thank the gods for the peers. Guns? Oh, I knew what guns did pretty early and have always respected them. Hard drugs? Stories about my uncle.
Shall we talk about weed strain names? Shall we talk about social media?
More kids are hooked on sugar, caffeine, and junk food than are hooked on vape pens. Someone is going to pass me the empty pipe for saying this, but it is not advertisers/manufacturers fault that kids have access to their products. It is the fault of the people who sell the products to kids. The only way to stop people from using something is to get rid of it altogether.
I'mma gonna stop before I really get into the hypocrisies of people who say, 'Stop this bad thing but ignore these other bad things that I like.' And I'm rambling.
And I'm missing the Cowboys game and need to do some drugs.

I started smoking and drinking not because of advertising, but specifically because of my peers. Their argument was that we're already grown up, and you don't want to be a loser. At that time, it seemed persuasive enough to join them. However, I hate advertising in any form now. They've started shoving it everywhere. A couple of days ago, I saw a video, like, directly inserted into a game, seems like Assassin's Creed. I understand that they don't care, the main thing is to make money. But damn.

I had a similar professor for mechanical engineering. He made us look at all these equations as if they were mysterious rituals. Every time he started explaining, I felt like I was immersing myself in another reality. Seems like we were studying science, but it felt more like magic.
