Before I joined this site I checked some of the other weed sites out. Now I noticed great info out there but a lot of rudeness. Blokes who wouldn`t have the balls to speak in person to another like that without getting seriously decked treated each other like shite. Also, it made the pages feel unwelcoming and that someone was just waiting to get a dig in. I may have just hit those pages randomly, don`t know. What I do know though is that a lot of people who take weed not only do it for physical pain relief, getting blasted, etc but also to help manage some long term mental health issues without resorting to harsh chemical medicines or do it in combinations. To do this, they grow and they ask questions. Loads and loads and loads of questions. I`m always asking questions.
To a person with a mental health issue, the slightest dig or spiteful comment can really have negative implications on them for hrs/ days afterwards.
Any of you know me will know I make no bones about having mental health issues, here. Especially as a bloke I feel it`s important to say it so that other blokes see it`s cool to acknowledge it. So I came back home today, went on site and nattered to a few of my mates here. Just passing chit chat style of things, you know? Nought heavy. Others may even read it in passing. But it had been a tough day. Now, it ain`t. It`s okay.
What I`m saying is this site is really remarkably friendly. I don`t know if Nebula is going around kneeing all the bad folk in the nuts to get them to behave but whatever it is, this is the most non-judgemental site-Weed wise-I`ve come across.
It makes it a safer and nicer experience for those whose days can be hard and can often, as with me, really lift your spirits. Sometimes it`s the only contact I choose to make in a day, sometimes longer.
This is a good community and an excellent one for those who need that friendlier environment.
So for all you non twats out there I just would like to say thanks for making this a nice site. It needed saying as we often only address the more direct growing problems without realising the help we give innocently to others in other ways :)
 
Well said my friend. I might be a little like you, some days I prefer to just not verbally communicate with anyone. I am introverted and the more I stay in my own head, the less I want to leave. I have to force myself to leave the house, make human contact.
as far other sites, they run rampant with narcissism I've found.

Peas in the same pod....100% with you there. Do love that Tyson quote. Life doesn`t need to be physically hard to be a slogging battle. Sometimes I feel l`d have made a fantastic cave dwelling, weed growing mountainous hermit though I `d want more than just an old loin cloth, that`s for sure. Sounds like the same sites I saw. There`s some real twats with rudeness and attitude out there. Can`t see where that gets them myself. Anytime you want to natter RosettaStoned over anything, just drop us a note. Never an inconvenience, always a plus just to know the option is there...:)
 
I grew up in a rough and tumble neighborhood. As a youngster a adopted a saying, treat me good I'll treat you better. Treat me bad and I'll treat you worse.

I have learned as I'm growing up to avoid the one that would treat me bad so I don't have to join them.

I love this site too. PaganRichyou are never on your bill mate. There are folks here that genuinely give a shite !

Nicely said PaganRich - I feel for everyone on this site that have health issues. My wife has a neurological condition that has been sucking the life out of her muscles, mostly with her legs but it will eventually overtake her. She is 53 me 62. So she keeps me grounded mostly at home. And that's fine by me. I love her and our home. She likes to smoke before bed - me too. But I smoke all day long as well. Growing cannabis the last couple of years has been a blast - still is. Growing what one smokes is a great hobby. Now us Canadians are going to legalize cannabis - should be interesting.

This site is to share our growing experiences, to allow others to use what is helpful for them and leave the rest behind.
It is not a - look what I just read on the internet (which everyone else, on the site, read & tried, years ago, lol).

We leave the "copy n paste" crowd drowned out with actual growers- who are willing to guide others to hopefully spare them the angst- if they are willing to listen.

Everyone else, would seem out of place, even if they are civil-
Those who are not civil disappear.

Californiakid you are never on your bill? What`s that :D :D :D Thank you for the kind words mate and I do agree that this site does have some really caring, nice folk. It`s easier for me to natter to folks thousands of miles away than a lot of peole I physically meet. I think that`s cos like minded people seek these sites out. Maybe but for some reason people are mellow here. Tis very nice to have this outlet. Sometimes talking to you and a couple of others is the only social contact I`m prepared to allow. Saying that, I do love my own company so that`s not a hinderance :)
 
D.A.A.S.69 Thinking of picking up the bass as I like the Melvins bassist as well as the Clash. Yeah, I was a heavy drummer. Used to busk bongos with my mate in town in the 80`s as well as regular gigs and recording (The bongo`s was a hippy thing, my drums (Named Storm) were a punk/ crusty thing. That needed to be clarified :D ). Played music for 20 yrs, 10 being on drums. I was also learning martial arts which I`ve been doing for around 30 odd yrs (and taught at times)as well. I like writing novels mate as a way to not watch so much history on TV and run a norse warrior/ barbarian site with a warlock and his witch wife-nought strange there :D This is all true D, honest mate. When you write it down you think shit, that looks mad but compared to some of my mates, that`s been quite tame. Actually, compared to what you get upto hunting and all that shit...no that is so out there for me :D

Before this site got big, many, many, members had an open discussion about the site. At that time we agreed that we wanted a 'family friendly' site.

Since then I have been intermittently on the forum, and it shill bothers me when folks use language that they would not use if they were talking to someone they respect.

This forum has been very good for me, and I hope I have helped some others from time to time.

I SUGGEST: Please consider shunning those who use inappropriate, or aggressive language. No likes for them. No comments for them. No welcoming atmosphere for them. They can go learn the same things we will learn here, from a site that is full of growers more like themselves. That way we can continue to attract growers who are serious and helpful.

Bud just want to say my phone and pm is always on. Know your half a world away but I have money and time if you need a visitor, will be easier if I can bring the wife. I have never hidden my mental issues here and maybe made them to apparent. But yes this is a great site. I think I scare to many people with my speech and my past life to talk to me but you always have. So always here.
 
I think everyone is here for the same reason... so why would there be any need for harsh words... I mean, if you had me over, and i seen something wrong with the babies, I would swear and cry, but not for you! Think of the little ladies! (Bad pun!)

My wife has many issues, I dont even consume the stuff, but im here to learn for her! Im still far from a craftsman, but I will get there some day, as will you!

You hit some great points there PaganRich, i have been to many forums that exhibit exactly what you have said. Its not random luck, its very widespread. Which for that very reason i avoided joining such sites as it would be toxic to be in such an environment. As long as we continue like we have, this could last a while before major administration is required.

On one side we have had problem with certain users and nebula did took care of it a few times blocking and deleting accounts. On the other side it has been very rare and hasn’t happened in a while. I think each and every one of us has put their grain of sand to form this community
