Gas Lantern Routine 12 on - 5.5 off - 1 hour on - 5.5 off - Light Period Question

Hello People I've recently been running the Gas Lamp Routine or Gas Lantern Routine to save on electricity during the summer months. My plants are fully developed in veg but I am not ready to flip yet, I need to add extensions to my tent before I flip for the stretch and set up another tent for clones. I read that regular light interruption will keep your plant in veg as long as your light doesn't go under 12 hours.

My question is since my plants are fully developed in veg can I reduce the light so I can reduce the air-conditioning during the 12 hour period of light. Can I bring it down from two HID 600 W lights in a 5 x 5 to just one and run it at 450w or 300w to economize until I get my extension and second tent?

Cutting back on the intensity of light should slow their growth without affecting their vegetative status.
