Fungus gnats.

So I found a couple of fungus gnats. Or at least that's what I think they are. I killed them. Do you think 2 of them would do any damage? Should I get something to treat the soil just in case? Turned up my fan a lil to dry out the top layer of soil quicker. Hoping that will keep anymore from trying to come around.
 
Hi Jacuna, Two things you should always keep on hand. 1 is Spinosat and the other is food grade Diatomaceous Earth. Spray the shit out of them with Spinosat then once the soil dries. Dust the top of the soil with DE.
 
Ok I'll make a trip to the closest gardening store. Do you think I should make this urgent? Like I said it was only 2 and I check my plants everyday so I know they weren't in there too long.
 
Yellow sticky traps for the adults. BT (bacillus thuringiensis) for the larvae. BT is found in Mosquito dunks/bits. I've used the dunks in hydro, I crumbled them up and fed it into the media. Worked great. For soil/coco you can do the same, just crumble them up and add it to your water. I wouldn't add nutrients with that watering to be safe though.

Kingfish's recommendations should work well too. I haven't tried spinosad on gnats and I've never used DE so I can't speak to how well they work.

I'm a spaz when it comes to plant problems, so I'd already be at the store. Probably be fine for a bit, but the thought of gnat larvae crawling in my media and chewing on my defenseless plant's roots... well... you get the idea...

Alright here's the pictures. Hey could you guys tell me what that little white spot is? I've had one other one before this. I've only caught them when I have found a moth in there. Royal Nugs no I haven't. I wouldn't quit know how to confirm. I just figured it was them because they were on top of the soil. And I get what you mean. But I stirred around the top layer of soil and I couldn't see any larva or anything.

As soon as I saw them I killed them. Took me about an hour to catch the little punks but I squashed them. I didn't even think to try and save it. I'll know if I find any more! Although I hope I don't.
 
I'm looking at your LST job. If I may make a suggestion. Get some soft string and tie it around the bottom of the stem. Tie it in the opposite direction from the bend. It will keep you from uprooting the seedling. In the LST you want to make a 90 degree angle.
 
Got it. I've had it tied down for about a week now. So you mean I should be going for a 90degree angle close to the stem? I'm just making sure I understand.
 
No, leave her alone now. Just think about it next time. You don't want to move the stem around too much.
