Forcing a Sativa to flower faster

Hey guys, I have 4 mexican brick seed sativas - I know for sure it's sativa because they're all tall as giants & lanky. I've tied them down, and lst'd them to the point where they've stopped stretching. Now they're all full of white pistils and slowly filling out, although they look like they have a long way to go. Some pistils are turning redish/brown but 95% of the plant is white pistils. I understand I might be stuck with a sativa that flowers for 20+ weeks... right now they're at 7 weeks and don't look anywhere near done. I need to meet a deadline by mid March, 2017 so they need to be harvested by then... & I've been thinking about doing a 10/14 light schedule (I'm on 12/12 right now). Does anyone have first hand experience doing this, and how much does it affect yield?

The plants are strictly for medicine so even if they're immature, I've thought about making hash with all the material (stems, buds, leaves) - and having enough to last me a few months. I'm expecting a few ounces of bud for sure, I've got 750 watts of leds, lots of room in my closet, many colas (no topping, just lst) so I'm confident it will produce, but as I understand - they don't really stack weight until the last few weeks.... so if the difference in yield is a loss of maybe half an ounce, I can live w/ that. Otherwise idk, what would you guys do?

Killing the plants and starting over isn't an option. This is my MEDICINE. Bag appeal means nothing to me, I'm after the relief if you know what I mean.

Growing in them in 5 gallon soil bags, very light doses of nutes and some osmocote premixed in the soil. Plant is green and healthy minus a few yellow leaves on the bottom.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys : )

Welcome Adam,
I'm not a soil grower, DWC is the method that I use. The only advice that I could offer is to try using a nutrient supplement like 'Liquid KoolBloom' (to promote weight) or by adding one tea spoon of un sulphured molasses per gallon of water to provide sugars and B vitamins. If you cut down on the amount of light, that is just less energy for the plants to utilize for their growth.
Good luck with your grow.

I would switch to 11/13 and keep it there. You can go 10/14 but only if necessary. This will minimalize yield loss. 11/13 is flowering schedule in the tropics which is around the same latitude of most landrace sativas.

Good luck... and like Greenie said, we love pictures.

Yeah I grow mostly sativas and keep the lights at 11/13. Drop them to 10.5/13.5 or 10/14 later if they're not finishing very decisively, but less than that and I think you'll be hurting your yields.

Right on the money, I have read Nebula and many other master growers give the same advice. My favorite strains are sativa dominate, but have enough indicia genes they have never failed to flower on 12/12. And of course send pictures, let us see.
