First Time Grower, Storytime...!

Bluey The pistols are my fault, took too much with the tweezers. I don't have pictures, but after I moved the plant outside, more leaves were smeared with pollen
And when i shook the "petri" some of them bursted open with pollen as well :(
Could not risk the other 2 that are doing solid.

Yeah... The bananas in the plastic petri are just a sample, Today I was observing the pariah plant and there were a bunch of nanners and bursted sacs with pollen around them. But ! as I said... I'll let it live, and post the results of the radical change of enviroment and who knows... maybe some good but seedy buds :)

Ah. It was a trick question.

I've never seen a plant hermie that early with only a couple of pistols showing although when I've grown males alongside the girls they often start shooting their load around then.

BUMP!!! Update and Photos.

Yesterday was 4th Week of flower. Ladies are starting to get really frosty, no issues.

27°C Day / 20°C Nights approx

40% to 55% RH

Happy times.

Intrusive thought, I'm not sure if bumping my thread is the way to do this journaling thing but if anyone has any suggestion regarding thread etiquette, lemme know.

Anyway...

5TH WEEK OF FLORA !!! Pretty exciting stuff.

The girls are starting to show all their flair. The smell is amazing, just lightly touching the buds, you get fruity, almost tropical punch smell.
The plants have like 1 week delay between each other, say... one is behind about a week in the flowering stage.

Drinking 600cc of Water each
1.5ml / 600cc BioBloom

Some small hiccups as well. I've detected some Brown spotting and some yellowing in some lower leaves, indicating maybe calcium deficiency.
The plant behind in the schedule had two mostly dead leaves, but i'm thinking is no issue cause they were old fan leaves.
Some purpling on top buds too, with some of the sugar leaves affected.
I'm thinking PH, cause I did noticed last time my soil was not that high in PH, maybe decreasing, and i have read that calcium is absorved maybe on the higher range of the PH
Say 6.5 onwards. But I'm no expert, let me know your thoughts.

Preventive measure:
About 0.5 cal-mag each plant and some PH UP.. would do the trick
Currently been watered twice with this correction.

I'm watering every other day 600cc per plant
How much time for the plant to stop showing signs of deficiency in new grow ?
I'm a bit doubtful about the general aspect of the grow. Maybe the leaves are a bit pale or is it my anxiety ?
Would like to know you guys ideas on this too.

Enjoy the photos !!

Update. HELP !

Hello ! Just started 7th week of flower.

Indica 2 ( the one in the back ) Seems to be doing pretty good, no more calcium deficiency and the PH-up correction with cal-mag did the trick
Buds are big and fat. Not like most of the late flower grows I see around here, but from my perspective they seem pretty nice.
The smell is amazing but it's pretty stealthy. Only if I move it or happen to slightly touch a bud, the plant explodes in aroma. Otherwise its pretty subdued.

Indica 1 HELP : in the front Is the one getting weird on me. No apparent calcium def, but a bunch of leaves are turning Red /. Not drying out or dying, but Not like anything I can diagnose with the plant doctor on the site.
Buds seems to be less... fat ? At least compared to the other plant.

They are different strains I presume too, remember that these are a 1st grow experiment with Bagseed.

Bluey Gingerbeard I summon your wisdom !

Not worried really. I just want to learn what could it be, or what can I do better for the next grow. This practice run has been amazing. As I get close to harvest the excitement grows with the plants !

--------------------------------------------------------- o ---------------------------------------------------------------------

OH BEFORE I FORGET

Remember the hermie plant ? Well I haversted it, She/he was not the prettiest, Very old school weed like. but I decided to go forward with the process of drying and curing as if the plant was Top Tier Cannabis. Just to see how the steps goes and how the buds can change and develop. Even if it was a weird plant.

Yielded about... 20 grams ? Today is 2nd week of curing. Doing 61% RH in the jar ( small higro ).

Smoked some and it's pretty mellow. No harshness and and subtle flavor. Half day high ( with my mid tolerance ), some narcotic effect but balanced overall, Pretty good for gardening and doing stuff outside. I'm glad I didn't kill it.

Those are autumn colors (formerly known as late-stage flowering issues) and are real fine looking. I'd absolutely call success.
If you hermied, it is possible you had a light leak. Where in the tent was your hermied plant and was one part of the plant more hermied than another? Of course, it could just as easily be genetics which you can easily check with one of those DNA gene checker application things you kids put on your mobile telephones. Maybe.
Consider hashing hermied plants. People really poo-poo the red-headed stepchildren for looks, but they make hash as good as their more popular, blonde-headed step siblings.

Thanks for your reply !

Glad to hear about autumn colors. It seemed very weird, cause leaves are alive but very autumnal indeed.

The plant that hermied had bananas all over. Not really by parts or something that indicated that the plant was affected by too much air or light leak from one side only.
Same thing for "Red Leaves" It's all over. Not just 1 particular side

Also The hermie plant was the one moved outside cause bananas started throwing pollen around week 3 flower.
I'll probably smoke it or venture in making edibles. Hash making is a little out of my league yet.

As per the DNA check thing... I'm not much of a mobile phone guy either.

Cheers !

Well done. Glad you got through your earlier issues.

Here's a pretty good explanation for change in color, what the different colours may represent, etc....also other articles available which may interest you.

https://www.lahuertagrowshop.com/bl...is Plants, plant, including flowers and leaves.

Your buds are looking good with only a few weeks to go I'm guessing tops, especially being indicas. They are on the smaller side but their structure looks tops and is looking very indica. The size is probably directly related to a low light intensity but for a first grow you have done well and a conservative approach is always the best way to start....actually it is often the preferred approach regardless.

Glad you ran the hermie through the dry/cure process and nothing wrong with old school bud. Its the preferred smoke for many especially us old school folks.

Keep em going, do your best giving as much balanced light as they can take, which is often a compromise, and you'll have some pretty decent bud at the end.

Thanks for the read and kind comments.

I had " Doh! " moment today when I read ginger's reply. Autumn, weed, leaves etc. It makes sense. One tends to get very into the " diagnostic " and "OH NO what is happening to my plant " moments

And now i had another one. You are absolutely right about the light intensity and size. Now I see why some lights advertise the gr/m2.

Hello everyone, Photo dump!

Today starts 10th week of flower. The girls are smelling amazing, I've decided to name them according to their characteristics ( I have absolutely no idea about genetics and seed origin )

The one with the autumn colors, with beautiful red leaves all over and a very wooden incense stink would be " Red Bag Skunk "

And the one with green leaves and fat frosty buds, with an overpowering fruit punch smell is " Peach Bag Kush "

I have no tool to watch trichomes this time around, so in honor to this " Bagseed Test Run ", I'm going to wing it with general appearance and pistils shape/color

My instincts say that Peach Bag is closer to harvest than Red Bag, but they are going close, maybe Red is like a few days behind in ripeness.
I'm going to flush this 10th week and probably harvest starting 11th.

Temps and RH are steady as can be.
Top higro marks 23 °C and 42% RH
Bottom higro marks 22 °C and 52% RH

I'm assuming 22.5 °C and 47% RH overall

My happiness is going overboard. I'm so freaking excited.

Enjoy the photos.

Ninja.

You have some great looking shots there. Try for a closer one of the beautiful bud with the red leaves preying to the sun.

Awesome work! Temps and RH are on point too. If you can hold those temps and lower RH more nows the time, but don't let temps climb, you'll lose terps.

Well done!

Thanks for the comment Bluey

I didn't know how to post a picture under the previous post,.

Here is the request !

I have squeezed and felt some of the buds of that plant.. rock dense, but no apparent bumps or seeds that i can feel :)

Have you tried taking a picture with a flash? Those Star Trek disco colors are cool, and all, but what does that fine looking dope really look like? What light are you using to check trichomes?

Hello !! All photos were taken with flash on.

Sadly, my light ballast interferes a lot, that's why those lines and disco funky music appear. hehe

I don't really have a light or instrument for trichomes. My phone camera is average at best
I have a 20x magnifying glass but can't see much really.

I will take photos in natural setting before I harvest. I promise.

Uh-oh. Trichomes are where it's at. Better get yourself some white/natural light to check them out. Can't but guess when to harvest if you can't see the trichomes.
Cell phone flashlight? Random $5 LED flashlight you picked up at the gas station? House lamp?
