HELP! DWC Hydroponics water PH drops over time

Afternoon update at 15:25
Added 1.5L of nuted water 1.5 hrs earlier. (2ml micro, 3ml bloom, 1 ml CalMag)

pH = 6.0
in ppm,
EC in bucket 1 - 653 (no plant)
EC in bucket 2 - 684 (small indica)
EC in bucket 3 - 679 (medium indica)
EC in bucket 4 - 682 (big sativa?)
EC in main res - 684

Wanted to give another update... been a few days but pH is under control...
Ranging between 5.7 and 6.3.

Heatwave in ireland as well....

and smoke off the small indica is very nice as well... :)
been taking bits off it to test...

I wouldn’t be picking buds off . You could stress her and slow her down . And even if you don’t you should let the. Grow to harvest to maximize there size . Your really robbing yourself .

Just FYI those numbers are ppm . Your ec would be a number like 1.0 . I think 1000ppm is something like 2.0 ec . That number isn’t correct I’m sure but it relays my point none the less . Just thought I would say something so your using the correct terms . I and most everyone hear know what you mean but just for the sack of a novice reading this , it’s best to be accurate.

Update after a good few days...
pH has been under control, ranging between 5.7 and 6.0 over time...
been adding nuted water every 2-3 days,
just now added 1.5L normal water with 20ml H2O2 (pH was 5.8)
and 3ml pH up...

will update in a while...

thanks everyone one for the advice so far

May I ask so I don’t need to read everything again

What did you find to be the cause of the problem . And how did you get it under control .

Was it simply a case of human error or something else all together ? I’m sure it was mentioned in the thread but please enlighten me.

Hi Dankwing,

I believe that it’s the use of H2O2 and pH up solution that did it, per @campesino’s advise.

Since getting those 2 and using them, pH has been much more stable...
only goes down by 0.1 or so every day.
When adding water, I only add nutes, no ph down.
Once pH drops below 5.8 I add pH up.
Not much, about 3 - 4 ml.
That keeps it in range of 5.8 to 6.3 over 5 days or so.
And I add CalMag as well; 7 ml per 5L water.

Hi @campesino,

Would like to do measurements but currently have kids visiting for last couple of days... don’t have ‘my time’ with nosey curious little people around...

Will post back with ppm measurements when it’s just me & the missus again.

Nuted water is gwe schedule for 5L water.

Big plant is growing fast & tall; had to top her a little due to light burn under the LED’s...

Looking back on my comment here I guess you could have been looking at ec as a 1000s number 685 aka .685 I should have asked before I made this comment it may have been bad information .

Right... got a moment to myself 😀.... (don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind visiting kids but it’s better they not come near the growtent, making checks less frequent)

ppm came in at ~1260-1300
pH is 6.2

ppm is a bit on the high side so for now until complete water change I’ll stick with plain water

Update: did a complete water change yesterday...
before change pH was 6.3 , ppm around 1300.

after change, pH 6.3 and ppm was around 630.
could add some nuted water to top up and raise the ppm a bit...

todays pH is also 6.3

update after a complete water change... (been 2 weeks, pH steady at 6.0 last 3 days)

Started with:
plain water properties: ppm - 267 / pH = 7.6

used 45L water in total.

Targeting mid bloom nutrient schedule.

30ml CalMag (added first per GHE nutrient schedule guide recommendation before FloraMicro)
60ml Micro
30ml Gro
90ml Bloom
33ml H2O2 (12%)

Settled ppm (NaCl) - 850 -> 1.7 EC
pH = 7.4

Added 13.5 ml pH down.

Settled pH = 6.2
target pH was 6.0

total time taken, 1.5 hrs.
